Pretty good...only question mark is Sneijder, who has tailed off a bit.

The most obvious suggestion is Iniesta.

It would also be very interesting to see the individual selections of each of those magazines, and see which country's journos chose which players.

At the risk of sounding too biased for Arsenal, maybe Kolo in defence for either of the 2 ManU guys (it does not really matter, the three have been equally good). And also you need a defensive mimdfielder right? Flamini comes in, therefore. He has been as much responsible for Arsenal's great start to the season as Cesc.

And how about VanDerVaart for Sneijder? Also, isn't as of now, Trezeguet = Toni?

How can they allow a magazine called "World Soccer" vote?

I used to read it. Is it still published? I looked for it in the newsstand recently in the UK and didn't see it...

Yes, it is still going strong.

Only a few selected outlets like WH Smith sell it.

I dont think Toure would displace one half of the best defensive partnership in Europe (this season).

I also dont think Flamini probably would even be in the premiership team of the month never mind the European team of the month.

I do think VDV should be in the team ahead of Sneijder, but looking at the players in the draw they probably only wanted a certain amount of players from each league in the team.

That's because it's just Flamini ! How could mere Flamini be better than Essien, Makelele, Mikel, Hargreaves, Mascherano, Gilberto etc etc.

Flamini will not be in any EPL best players team fro the same reason Fat Ronaldo was voted the best player in the 1998 world cup. For the same reason the Fifa 50 best players of last year list contains players who have hardly played last year.

    It's called (mis)reputation. It's called bias.

He has been monstrous this season, as much a reason for Arsenal's great present performance, as Fabregas.

Seriously, as a defensive midfielder, name me any player who has been as good if not better than Flamini this season as of now.

And the rating is for this season as of now, if I am not wrong.

Sneijder got 8 out of 10 votes, that's an incredible score....

His season opening certainly warrents him being chosen.

Erm, am I actually defending the midget now ?!

    ok

    Evra has been amazing.

However I suppose on the flip side, Vidic hasn't been as good as he was last season.

Abidal has indeed been superb. Tough to say better than Evra or not, but I'll just say this - even at LB he has improved our defence by a huge amount. Normally the flanks were extremely fragile, and with the injuries at CB this season we would have struggled majorly.
