YOU GOTTA DO WHAT YOU GOTTA DO

Post by PuroReturns on Sun Oct 21, 2007 3:16 am

Most of you know I picked Liverpool to finally win the title this year. Yes, I was wrong last season, but this season's like a ripe papaya. It is there for the Scousers, IF they want it.

IF Liverpool go on to win this season, you can look back to today's game against Everton as the turning point in Liverpool quest for the title. I invite you all to remember this game when Rafa with one substitution told Gerrard "GET THE f@ck OUT OF THERE! YOU'RE IN THE WAY OF SUCCESS, WE HAVE TO WIN IT THIS SEASON!" Biggrin

I can't believe how much better Liverpool play without Gerrard in central midfield. Just joking! I've been saying that for the longest. Rafa had to do what he HAD TO DO in order to win. Biggrin <Ale>

COME ON YOU REDS! MAKE US PROUD!

Oh it's on COTR! Biggrin <Ale>

I was under the impression you picked pool to win the title last year, after they failed by 50 odd points, you went for Pizarro and Chelsea this year no?

It's cool you can have both.

I am not sure how you determine it's pool's title if they want it after they needed 4 big decisions, two penaltys, and a mountain of luck just to scrap to a win against Everton.

Keep your money in your pocket this time bro Ale Gerrard or no Gerrard the premiership will not be going near Liverpool! Biggrin

I picked Liverpool to win it this season back in July sometime. I said I would have to support Chelsea some this season because Mouriho had signed Pizarro, but Liverpool were my pick all along with City finishing 5th. I recall almost everyone laughed when I said Sven was gonna take City among the EPL leaders. Most had City 10th-12th. The Mancs looking real good again. Biggrin

Ah ok fair enough my man. I see you're one of these people who back the same horse until it eventually wins, even if it causes you to go bankrupt in the process!

Man city look real good, a lot better than Liverpool right now Ale

Biggrin It's not like I've picked Liverpool the last 5 years. It's been Chelsea (correct!), Chelsea (correct!), Liverpool (wrong!), and this season picking Liverpool to win unless Gerrard somehow plays in central midfield.

Somehow something tells me Rafa has had enough of that BULLSHIT! Biggrin <Ale>

I thought Arsenal and Chelsea were gonna fight Liverpool all the way to the end, not your Mancs. It's gonna be a good race with Citeh finishing in top 5. <Ale>

Gerrard will come top of the cheats list, no others. It's sickening the preferential treatment he gets from refs and i for one would like to see the fooker get run over.

He's got away with some very bad tackles because of who he is. I'm not saying that doesn't apply to other players but he is the clearest example. He's done loads of 'Mikel tackles' when he's lost control of the ball and never seems to suffer the same fate as Mikel. (Mikel: "It's cos I is black isn't it? Wink ) I'm gradually turning round to Puro's point of view about him.

and the fact that he only has to look at the ref, half the time, to get his decision. and he can play as $h!t as he likes for england and no c**t in the media says a word about it. awesome.

spot on, the refs kiss his arse. Why hasn't anyone questioned the ref about changing the yellow for a red? I suppose because they know the ref will just lie about it and say he took the yellow out by mistake.

That's a good point Rosy! Why do players like Mikel get punished so quickly be these refs, and players like Gerrard are glorified? I'd like to know what the refs say about this. There's a huge double standard. Good point baby! Biggrin <Ale>

There are some players who get sent off very easily and Mikel is one of those. What did he actually do wrong in the league cup final other than pull a shirt? Patrick Viera was another one who was discriminated against by referees. The FA make it worse by backing their referee when Chelsea or Arsenal are involved but fail miserably when Liverpool feel aggrieved and have their referees making grovelling apologies instead.

Gerrard gets away with it because he is Mr Roy of the Rovers, British Bulldog Spirit, up the Jerries, Tally-ho, what-not bunty, oh i say, splendid.
Also you have to look at how Liverpool biased the media are in this country. If it isnt the ex-players fronting every footy show ever, ever. It's the 100s of 30-45 year old male journos who are Liverpool fans. Think about it: who were the best team in England, perhaps Europe, when these generations were young and impressionable in the late 70s, early 80s? Yup Liverpool, that's who. Just as two years ago every c**t supported Chelsea, ten years ago it was utd, twenty five years ago it was pool and it is this generation who now runs -or writes for- a large % of the media. The king of Liverpool is Gerrard and they cant bring themselves to say owt bad about the bloke, which is not good journalism but hey-ho what to you expect from plastic fans.

yup, it's pretty likely to happen. Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs on MOTD spouting tedious cliche, after tedious cliche out of their asses whilst David Beckham buys Sky TV with the contents of his 'small' change jar.

My dad tells me that literally half the country (well that fraction interested in football) claimed to support Liverpool by the end of the 70s. Glory chasing tossers.

Passion & playing intelligently are not mutually exclusive.

At the last WC Australia played with plenty of passion, but whenever they desperately needed a goal, they still kept playing smart. They got the ball out wide, waited until the box was populated & crossed it.

Rafa taking Gerrard of is a testimonium of his own inability.
