Doh so cocky but i´d expect nothing less from the franco boys. lyon finding top form will batter you away, and get a draw at home. kiev and becharest not easy places to go, you´ll do well to finish second with grandads army

First match for them is Lyon at home: they'll have to be on form straight away or they could get another hiding.

    Its an honest opinion TM.

Capello can't hack it in Europe - you'll lose away from home and struggle to win at home and IMO won't get more than 6 points ok

This Capello can't hack it in Europe thing is ridiculous. The season we eliminated them in the quater final they'd only conceded 4 goals before elimination. Half of those goals came against them at Anfield.

He needs a bit more luck to go their way (Del Piero's 'offside' goal at Anfield) and maybe needs to be a bit more care free, but there's nothing to say he can't hack it in Europe.

C'mon, Wenger's been at Arsenal nearly 10 years and the only time he's made it past the quaters was when they were playing some of the worst catenacco football the world has seen. Is anyone suggesting that he can't hack it in Europe?

Wasn't Capello AC Milan manager when they trounced Barca's "Dream Team" 4-0 in the final in the 90s?

Yeah, Capello's Milan beat Barca's "dream team" 4-0 in the CL final. A stint which also included 4 scudetti in 5 years at Milan, a team which was nicknamed The Invincibles for a 58 game record unbeaten run... "The Invincibles" are considered to be the greatest Milan team of all times, even more successful than Saachi's Milan of the late 80s, and also are known to be the most attacking Milan team ever, who finally buried Italys catenaccio reputation.

People here have no clue about Capello, and are mostly basing their opinion on his record at Juve over the last 2 seasons. Sometime I think we have too many 12 yr olds on this board!!!

I don't think it's the same Madrid that we blew up 3-0 last year. It would be certainly a tough game.
But, last three champions leagues, Lyon finished first of their group against Bayern, Manchester and Madrid. So I'm quiet surprised by the over-confidence of some Madridistas.

Tricky game, the board would burst into utter jubilance if RM slipped up, but its not impossible, not being a pesismist but we wont lose 3-0 again.

Weekends showing was good, but Lyon are far a superior opposition to the mighty levante

Lyon have been together for years and are a solid team, we have 4-5 new players starting and a new manager, you cant expect us to beat Lyon away this early on in the season. A draw would be a great result.
