5 Chelsea players in the top 11!

We are paying Henry far too much! But at least it's better than 5.3 million euros a year for Robben lol!

    So our top earners are...

    Ronaldo - £110,000 a week
    Rooney - £105,000 a week
    Ferdinand - £87,000 a week
    Tevez - £85,000 a week
    Giggs - £75,000 a week
    & van der Sar - £70,000 a week.

Rio is earning alot less than was reported. Also suprised Scholes isn't on a similar wage to Giggs.

I thought the 2 Bayern strikers earned the most as they came on a free/nearly? In particular Toni.

Not sure how accurate these are. Raphael Honigstein insists that Luca Toni is paid as well as anyone in the world (£130,000+). And even if he is a little off, there is a huge discrepancy between the wages he suggests and those suggested here.

It's also affected by the pay structures of different clubs. At Barcelona, the basic wages are not that high, but the bonuses are huge. So in the CL winning year, the club had to pay a lot in bonuses...that would push all our players way up the list.

I don’t understand myself surely he could not be getting paid more than the likes of Berbatov or Keane. The man hardly plays.

I think we are still paying part of Sol Campbell's salary. It is an incredible amount to recieve each weeks considering his club isn't even in Europe.

As far as I am aware Gallas is on £90k and Toure is on £70k. Fabregas's proposed new deal is worth £80k a week.

lol! Darren Bent reckoned going to Spurs was not about the money Doh

If you had Defoe, Keane and Berbatov at the club, you were hardly going to go there to get guarenteed first team football. What a C0ck, didn't even play a a minute of the final, and hardly plays at all.

Shevchenko, Owen, Adriano, Robben, Bent (if true), Vieira, Morientes, Kewell

Unbelievable amount of money going down the drain from all the clubs that own those players, considering the amount of time they actually spend (productively) on the pitch.

I must admit I thought Spurs had quite a strict salary cap, somewhere around £60,000 a week, so I find the Bent wages questionable. Maybe one of the Spurs fans will be able to shed some light on the matter.

They do indeed...but when Bent was on the verge of signing for us, how else were they going to get him, other than to offer more than we did? We apparently offered him £65,000 a week Doh which I think is true. So T*ttenham must've gone higher.

Unless he thought he'd be better signing for a side that had finished in 5th place for the last 2 seasons rather than one that had escaped a relegation dogfight?

They won the Carling Cup this year...woooooo! Not like most teams care about it. League wise they are now 8 points behind us. I don't think their chances of finishing 5th are very high...

He was never going to be first choice there...he was 4th choice out of 4 strikers. Defoe has gone to get first team football at Portsmouth. At least he has sense.

Strange also that Cech is almost paid twice as less than Casillas knowing that Chelsea are rich and that he's a fabulous goalkeeper.

Cech was signed when he was young, and coming from a smaller club, so maybe he is still on that same contract. Casillas has been with Madrid for a long time and recently renewed (not the lifelong contract, because that is probably even too new for this list)

Hey, I'm not saying he made the right decision. But last summer, he could well have thought that Spurs were likely to perform better than West Ham, and that might have affected his decision.

Exactly - smilie and everything - what I was about to do!

It boggles the mind how a mediocre player can move from a relatively small club and attain wages like that.

Does this exemplify the pecuniary difference between English clubs and clubs from any other league in the world?

Exactly - smilie and everything - what I was about to do!

It boggles the mind how a mediocre player can move from a relatively small club and attain wages like that.

Does this exemplify the pecuniary difference between English clubs and clubs from any other league in the world?

Jesus christ Bulk, he's not mediocre, infact he's very good. It's just that he can't break the Keane/Berbatov partnership. I would take him at Newcastle anyday. ok
