The media are reporting it but there are so many version of the deal that it not clear yet. Still with all talking about it i guess it might be true. It is not official though.

If true it is something almost impossible in Portugal. One of the big three buying another one's captain with an agreement between the clubs. I think it is the first time ever.

It's due to the respect each club has for the other (Costinha helped) and the fact the player wanted to go there and risked disturbing the team if forced to stay.
I'm not angry that it happened, i'm even kind of proud the way things were conducted, but pissed at Moutinho, who will never be welcome near any SCP instalation. Finaly someone to replace the about-to-retire Simo Sabrosa Laugh

10M plus 25% of a future sale profit plus 50% of the player Nuno Andr Coelho.
Cheap - too bad Sporting was asking for sick money, when Everton was interested 2 years ago...

Seems there is an agreement between Sporting and the Brasilian player Fbio Aurlio (Liverpool).

Didn't this guy had several big injuries? WTF does Sporting want with an old (30yo) injured player?

P.S.G have bought their second player after Bodmer, the Brazilian Nene from Monaco. Good deal for 5.5m euros. He scored 14 goals, which is great for an offensive midfielder.
P.S.G look to be back to be be competing for the first role. They can certinaly finish in the top 5.

AZ didn't include Moussa Dembele & Mounir El Hamdaoui in their Europa League squad. Apparently they will be sold to clubs playing in Europe.

Ligue 1 watchers: how would you rate Ettien Capoue and Moussa Sissoko of Toulouse?

Apparently Bara sent a delegation to France this past week to sound out the market and try to repeat the Toure formula (signed for 9m from Monaco) in order to find his replacement. Those two above are two of the names being evaluated, along with Alou Diarra of Bordeaux (who would be slightly cheaper but is much older).

Excellent business from Zenit - could/should be the end of Kerzhakov as a starter.

Bystrov, Rosina, Danny, Lazovic and Bukharov - great variety of options.

The swedish media thinks Lyon is trying to offload him to trim their wage bill, he has been offered to Galatasaray for only a small transfer fee something like 5 millon euros. But Kllstrm do not want to go there.

Anyone did hear anything about it? I always rated him, for this money he would be a steal IMHO... for some teams (Sevilla?).

My players will be coming for that defense though! cheers

I really think that it would be a bad idea for them to go to Barca because they are too young & unexperienced at the highest level, except A. Diara. Furthermore, what is the point to be on the bench, whereas they are garantied a starting position so they will be able to learn better staying where they are now. Sissoko is a player that can score, Capoue is good as well, but he's more defensive.

The russian league today is not as good as the portuguese league yet, but they do have a lot of potential because of the money. Bruno Alves obviously didn't go to zenit because he wanted to play in a top league on a top team. He only wanted the $$$$$!!. I think that bruno alves is more than capable of starting in almost any defense in the world so why russia. I wish him luck, but in the moment porto is a better team than zenit and the portuguese league is better than the russian. Didn't zenit lose to nacional recently?

1 England
2 Spain
3 Germany
4 − Italy
5 France
6 Russia
7 Ukraine
8 Portugal
9 Turkey
10 Netherlands

And 2 different Russian clubs have won a European trophy since Portugal last won one.

Generally players only move there for the money but Zenit and CSKA are both credible moves for a top player IMO - getting Advocaat and Spalletti shows they are a serious club.

Having said that - they only need a score draw tomorrow and he will have no CL this season.

I thought Fernando Meira was supposed to be going the other way - Alves, Meira, Lombaerts and Krizanac - you can't keep them all happy.

Rubin are in the Champions league. Should show some backbone instead of allowing Zenit to take key players. Bloody hell that's half the spine of the team.

Based on his World Cup I'd want 250% of his rights for that.
