Belarus were unlucky they didn't win. they had the better chances, played the better football, great quick combinations. It was an exciting match. The goals from Germany were a lucky own goal and an off-side goal.
Defensively Germany have a lot of work to do. Not only Hitzelsberger (LB) and Metzelder were below par. Lahm wasn't solid as well. Especially the gap between midfield and defence was much too big so Belarus could easily pass the ball around in the midfield...
It doesn't say a thing. It was the first friendly after a tough training session at Mallorca. Also, with a normal left back the other defenders get probably more confidence. The game against Serbia will give us more information about the state of Germany
