Davenport ahead of Ferdinand seems surprising...is that just for height, or is Ferdinand injured or has he just dropped down the pecking order?

Any chance that you guys will make a bid for Guddy?? He has a very decent pre-season now that we changed our style to be a bit more pressing and fast!

Ferdinand isn't 100%...he's on the bench just incase we need him really. Same with Collins. He's had no pre-season at all...but we have too many other injuries, especially to defenders.

@Desgraciats-I can't see that one happening now...seems that we were stalling on the bid because our chairman is tightening our funds due to losing money on his letting business. The deal was all set to go ahead though!

You can really tell that Guddy is basically a EPL player. He is very physical and works very hard, but he just seems to lack the technique to really link up in a fast short passing game. But I expect him to do much better this season as the new "style" suits him much better.

Yeah...I'd love him here tbh, and it's nearly happened twice. When we had the money, you didn't want to sell him just yet. Now we don't...we'd have had the perfect chance to get him.

No he had cramp...if you are another one of the Ashton hating brigade...please do politely f@ck off Biggrin.

Good news that he'll be playing Sunday! McCartney might be back by then aswell. Bellamy will need another couple of weeks...Dyer another 3 or 4.

Boa Morte scored 2 in a friendly last night against QPR...so good to see a bit of form.

Smashing news about Deano. Must admit I was fearing the worst when he went off. Strikes me that we need another forward to come in, Cole will works his bollocks off and run about all day for ya but shouldn't be anymore than a squad player. 3-4 players needed IMO. Man City away in front of the sky camera's Sunday, and I reckon we can nick something from there. ok

Well there are rumours of Sebastian Pinto...coming in on a years loan from Santos. He's only 22, and is nicknamed the tank...apparently quick, strong and an eye for goal.

We're also apparently chasing Stephen Appiah aswell...maybe if Ferdinand is sold, that £8m will go towards the squad. I think we need another striker, LB and CM...

Not heard about Pinto but have heard the Appiah rumours, sure I read something about him supposedly ripping up his contract? Shocked

It's us and Pompey that are meant to be in for him. Agree with ya about needing a ST, LB and CM but I think we could perhaps do with another wide player...

Perhaps f*ck off a load of the sh*t we've got, Nigel Quashie comes to mind. Laughing

Valon, do ya go away games mate?

Nigel Quashie played in that friendly against QPR last night...he's been out with a foot injury for a whole year!

Yeah I do...usually get to about 7 a season. Went Fulham, Chelsea, Wigan, Liverpool last year...

Seems like Gabbidon aint played in ages either, heard he done his groin in or something?

Good to see the Ginger Monster Collins getting back to full fitness. Makes the way for Anton to leave.. not that I don't rate him. I'm hoping to get to some away games this season, seen West Ham play at Roots Hall a few times as it's my local but that don't really count... Very Happy . Went along to Portman Road this pre-season which was me first proper one. ok

You might wanna get your tickets quickly mate...or they'll sell out. I expect Dean Ashton to be the man that shines really...had a fantastic pre-season, and start to the season already...for them, I guess it's Santa Cruz we have to watch out for...maybe Samba for aerial ability. Ince will get a deserved hostile reception...especially has he already couldn't keep his mouth shut. I expect us to win...we are a bogey team for Blackburn...they've lost 4/5 on the spin to us...and I don't expect it to be any different at home to them. I'll be disappointed with anything other than a win. I'm not sure who the team will be...it depends on who's fit and if we sign anyone else...

@EMP-Yeah...he said West Ham away is his game of the season, and it's the first fixture he looked for. Basically a little wind-up...but basically he was never forgiven for doing what he did with the Man Utd top...Berbatov done something similar on a lesser scale today.

@Parks...yeah he is...back in training on Tuesday, so will be ready for Sunday.
