Next up: Neuer and Srna.
So who will have to warm the bench now, Toni or Klose? I hope it will be Klose, so I don´t have to see him anymore. Wink

Everybody will play. We were way short with three strikers this year. I'd think that Klose will get the most playing time, seeing how Toni and Gomez have a very similar style. Olic to be the super sub.

Forgot Magath is the new manager at Schalke. No Neuer for us then.

Maybe Enke after all? Or Frey?

And what do you want to do with Lell and Ottl. Did Bielefeld or Cottbus already make an offer? Wink

About time, no?

I think Ottl could stay, but Lell I never want to see in a Bayern jersey again.

Hug

I promise you that I will trust you in the future, maybe. Wink

To me it was just a very unthinkable and unlikely statement, as the HSV board just yesterday said, they'd like to extent with Jol. And one day later he's gone.

*sigh* You can't even trust official statements these days. Rolling Eyes

I've been trying to come up with any sort of answer for a bit now, but all I can say is that I have lost every bit of respect for the player. Goodbye, Mario, I thought you were smarter than that!

Where is the vomit smiley when you need it?

Would you have felt dirfferently if he went abroad?

I mean, that he leaves VfB in the future was clear anyway. And he needs to play for bigger clubs to get to the next level.

Yes.

Because that club wouldn't have been Bayern.

And yeah, I know, he would have left us anyway, but this is to a direct league opponent and not for some foreign club like Barca who we really cannot (and do not) compete with on any level.

I don't get either why he's so fond of joining Bayern. He already won the Meisterschaft with Stuttgart and that's what he only will be able to achieve with Bayern as well (besides a DFB Cup trophy maybe), as I doubt he has a serious chance of winning the CL with Bayern.

He indeed should have moved abroad instead. Would have been much better for his development as well.

Rolling Eyes

Anyway, congrats Bayern on signing him.

And really, no offense to Effenberg and the rest of the Bayern fans, but this will make Uli Hoeness even more smug in the future because they once again got what and who they wanted, even if it took a little longer than usual.

What I also don't get is how he can go from saying 'everything has to fit' to joining Bayern - from the impression I have of him, I don't think he'll be one to enjoy the Munich party life. Or the constant supervision by various tabloids and other media.

This actually, in comparison, feels a lot worse than Keffffin leaving four years ago, somehow.

Which teams can win the CL anyway?

ManU, Chelsea, Barca, Liverpool and AC Milan (but not atm)
Bayern is as good as any of the other teams not mentioned above.

That's what I was thinking. It doesn't really matter where you go, the chances to win the big one are small. Look at all the stars at Chelsea who have never made it. If Van Gaal can build a team out of this group of players Bayern is assembling, they'll have a chance to crack the big four.

Very Happy

We'll see. You still don't strike me as a club that has a conceptual transfer policy which is necessary to win the CL. The league also doesn't challenge you as much as it would be needed to be able to compete with the English teams or Barca.

lol! sublime

Lovely turn of phrase Chrissi.

Yeah sad but true – deeply disappointing that Bayern yet again just get to hoover up the best of the local competition (what a depressing joke of a transfer policy) but in the absence of the right/a feasible offer from abroad it's once again the only obvious step up. Sad that he's disappointed for so long on the international stage.

Is it true that Bremen are after Misimovic as well as Marin?

I think we'll sign Marin as "replacement" for Diego and play without a classical playmaker in the future. Then I hope we can keep Pizarro and maybe sign another striker, Mandzukic or Moreno maybe.

Last but not least we need another defensive midfielder, and like I said the other day Baris Özbek could be a candidate.

No, I don't think we have the money for two quality offensive midfielders. And Misimovic would cost truckloads of money...

Ah, sure I forgot about Marin. Doh

It's hopefully not too early to already burden Özil and Marin with all of your attacking responsibilities. They both might need one or two more seasons until they can play on a consistently high enough level.

But maybe I am just too bedenkenträgerisch, as usual. Very Happy

Is Carlos Alberto returning to Werder after his loan spell or have you already sold him?

We'd have two playmakers on offer this summer - c'mon, two for the price of one. Wink Plus you'll do a good deed because it will save me from having to hear my mother rant about why Hanover re-signed Jan Simak. Very Happy

I think Özil and Marin will do well and grow quickly. sunny

With regard to Carlos Alberto it seems the plan atm is to extend his loan deal in Brazil (his girlfriend is pregnant) and in return he signs a contract extension at Werder. He might return next year or maybe during the winter break then. However I'm quite sceptical about a return to Bremen.

@Wiebke

As much as I appreciate your generosity, but I think we'll look elsewhere... Wink

So will you bring back Hleb to Stuttgart then with all the Bayern and CL money available?

I don't know whether he'll come, Chrissi. There was an interview a few weeks ago, after the VfB had stated publically that we were interested in bringing him back, to which he replied he'd rather stay at Barca and try to make a breakthrough there.

But I guess we'll try to and who knows, if he replaces Hilbert and isn't forced to be a playmaker again, it might even work out for the better.

The bigger question for me is who we'll bring in as new strikers (plural!).

Haha, I remember almost getting into a fight with blutgraetsche because I said our Hilberto reminded me a lot of Christian 'Tiffi' Tiffert. Laughing And blut was adamant he was not and was the next best thing.

I hate the phrase, but for once it seems to be true: I personally think Hilbert was a) playing a little above his actual level, and b) he was buyoed by the fact that no one expected anything of him (which then dragged him down...).

Well, would be nice to see Hleb back in the Bundesliga, not in a Bayern shirt though... Wink

Ah, looking for good strikers is shit, but you have the money and the CL, so you should find a good replacement for Super Mario, but keep your hands off Pizarro, please... Wink
