Poor old Robbie Keane

I hear Hull are interested in a striker / any striker who will accept them

Slowest forward line in history.

No, that was Raul-van Nistelrooy. ok

At least both had a decent turn of speed once upon a time.

Crouch-Huntelaar wins (or loses the race in this case) Ale

The best thing about the Huntelaar to Spurs transfer is that with every goal the Hunter scores, things will get more hilarious. Especially TS's 'explanations'...

How ye think Spurs will line up in midfield this season, MV/TS/TRWP?

Lennon-Palacios-Jenas-Modric?

Presume you must be playing 2 up top, what with having about half a dozen 10m+ strikers!

Thats the funny thing about Spurs! Their midfield is a laugh, but always have expensive forwards!

German Jesus is allright though.

I would prefer Huntelaar to Bent, Huntelaar may be useless unless he scores but at least he has a terrific range of finishing; volleys, chips, both feet, blasts, curls - the man is brilliant at that.

But can he do it in a physical defensive environment, or will he be another Afonso Alves?

Do we really need the poacher option? Possibly but for much Cheaper - Darren Bent's was meant to be a goalscorer, but his signing fucked up all our progress. COMOLLI Grr

None of the teams who finished above us did it by having *just* a goalscorer as their main CF. Even if Torres scored at half the rate he does he'd still be a massive threat because of his channel running, work-rate, underrated hold up etc.

Wouldn't attacking play suit his style? If chances are created he is likely to convert them. Not saying he should be main option, but you need the option of a goal-scorer if required. His price is going rate. If you say cheaper option then who fits bill and at what price? How much can you get back on Bent now. Pretty clear Harry doesn't want him and nobody will pay what you paid, so what is fair price now?

As the whole board knows, I hate Bent the player - seriously anything above £10mil would do.

Signing Huntelaar at that price almost certainly means that he'll be our no.1 striker - but we'll instantly lose the abilty to create from the front, which is where we've been so successful in the past (i.e. Kanouté, Berbs, Mido, and Pav certainly has that ability). Hold up play & link-up is crucial, and Huntelaar, like Bent, is a black hole outside of the attacking 3rd of the pitch.

If I thought he'd suit our style I'd be happy, but of the Madrid fringe strikers I'd far prefer Negredo. So do the Madrid Hierachy & most of their fans, I wonder why? Erm

I don't believe a goalscorer is absolutely nesccesary - I'm a firm believer that the goals should be shared around. I want more goals out of Lennon & Modric for example.

Understood but your managers clearly think goal-scorers are needed and will use them. The option of a goal-scorer doesn't mean that goals can't come from elsewhere as well. The Madristas know that their coach doesn't want Huntelaar; he won't get a chance there and Negredo is their young hope. Anyone would prefer the option of a young cheap Negredo over an expensive older Huntelaar that the coach doesn't want. It doesn't mean Negredo is the better player; just that he is more tempting for other teams as a deal-maker.

Harry obviously thinks that he can play within the style that he wants to play and it might not be the worst option if he gets the goals you need. It might also make space for others.

By the way Harry as repeatedly said he is not interested in Negredo. Why is that?

Surely, its better to have Huntelaar in the side, and hope Lennon and Modric can add more goals to their game but if they dont Huntelaar is there to get them instead. Rather than not have Huntelaar and hope Lennon and Modric add goals to their game, but if they dont..noone is there to help?

Plus the addition of a proper goal scorer would probably help Lennon out as a winger. A winger needs a target for his crosses. Granted a lot of Lennons crossing is shit, but if we can hope he adds more goals to his game we might aswell hope he can learn how to cross a bit better.

Harry needs to forget Huntelaar and use all his "connections" whilst avoiding bungs to get Joe Cole.
