Watch it there ! Grr

Ruud & RVP is still our first choice pairing !

And I wouldn't mind playing without a real striker all together (I think we already did that a couple of times) :

RVP

Robben - VDV - Kuyt

DM - DM

back four

Huntelaar's that bad is he? Very Happy

Nope : he's quite good......for a certain type of system.

....and Holland doesn't play that system.

Just like Makaay and Hasselbaink were European top strikers but didn't fit Oranje, so is the situation for Huntelaar too.

He'd be super lethal for Germany or Italy, if they'd have a striker like him they'd be huge favourites for the 2010 WC.

Thank god they don't Laugh

Don't see the problem. Not good enough for Man Utd or Real Madrid and such but he'd be good for Tottenham. If he replaced Bent it'd be a very good move IMO.

Because he's like Ruud, but worse.

At least ruud had mobility & could hold up the ball to begin with, his injuries were what turned him into a 1-dimensional poacher.

What successful team won the league with a poacher as their top forward this decade? Only 1. Ruud in 2003.

Apparently according to one of those comments

'I FULLY agree what was said earlier, which was " Huntelaar won't be a replacement for Adebayor. Huntelaar will be much, much better than Adebayor." '

So that's that then Doh

Who would he replace in the German team then? Podolski? Gomez? scratch

Don't think so.

Yeah but you're not gonna win the league anyway. You wouldn't have took Ruud at Spurs? I know he's not as good but Ruud still managed a league title or two with Madrid also and he was a big player in that. With a limited player in some games he can be no use and when you need to win 2 out of 3 games to win the prem that can be a problem, but for Spurs someone who'll grab a goal to beat the smaller teams and of his quality would be very good. If it doesn't work out just drop him for the other strikers it's no disaster to me.

I meant EPL.

Juventus only won it because they were cheating and Madrid because of Barca's mini-meltdown. Bayern because Bundesliga defending is poor.

We'd still have finished 13th, 7 points ahead of Newcastle.

Pav's 5 goals won us 12 points, and he assisted defoe's winning goal against Stoke, so that's another 3 Crazy

Pav's a significant striker Ale

That would be up there with a Raul - Owen partnership in terms of dynamism.

Are people really saying Bent is better than Pav? I hope they are making such absurd suggestions just to annoy TS, otherwise they're totally wrong.

Bent is a useful player at times, but very limited, however Pav makes us play 50 times better as a team, more creative and can score goals....I will also most definetly have him ahead of Huntelaar...

Bent is useful when you want to score goals.

If you want to look pretty and give a good effort, creating a shitload of chances but scoring fuck all, then Pav is your man ok
