I only saw Gomez in non-highlight at Euro 2008, and he looked terrible. sounds like a player that can't handle the big stage (no offence to any Stuttgart fans that may be on here).

Yep, he was shite there, but he was vital for us in the league during the 07/08 and 08/09 season and that's what a lot of people forget. National team related games are the cherry on top of the cake that is league football, so please, do judge players mainly by those performances (no offense meant either, I'm just so very sick of correcting a false image). And damn, I don't want to be defending him at the moment... Bayern fans, that's your job now!

He was terrible at Euro 2008, but throughout that season where he carried Stuttgart's attack he was injured. He clearly needed a rest that he couldn't have. It could have destroyed his confidence, but he came back and still played well for Stuttgart last season.

I really don't get this totally unobjective Gomez hate on here. He is young and talented. Give him time. He may not ever make it on the international stage, but he is a fantastic striker at club level. If Bayern don't realise that and use him properly, that's their loss.

Bayern draw against (bottom 3) Cologne AT HOME

0-0

Yikes

Cologne park the bus for 90 minutes, van Gaal tries to crack them with ONE STRIKER ONLY

Doh

van Gaal is now on 12 points out of 8 games

EXACTLY the same as Klinsi at the same stage

his endless changes in tactics (formation), madman rotation, often at half-time, and refusal to practise his tactics, whilst terrorising his players with the threat to bench them

reminds us of Klinsi

Yikes

even the van Gaal beneficiaries are beginning to wonder out loud what he is doing

Lahm said a week ago that he was happy to play wherever the manager played him, but SOON he would have to settle for ONE position, otherwise he would never find his rythym

Olic has PUBLICLY said that benching strikers ALL the time, often at half-time, was beginning to destroy their self-confidence and makes them nervous in front of goal

if you miss your only chance in the first 45 minutes, you often end up on the bench during the break

in fact, Gomez once scored a goal in the first half and was rather happy about it, but, to his surprise, got the Dutch hair-dryer treatment during the break and was benched

starting a whole debate about his suitability

van Gaal is doing EVERYTHING wrong and if Bremen draw today, the Bavarians will be 8th in the table I think

Mainz, recently promoted and led by a rookie, are AHEAD of them

Yikes

if this continues until Xmas, van Gaal will celebrate New Year in the Low Lands

it will get funny in the new year when the Bayern bosses start getting nervous and lose patience

I still cannot get over the fact that the guy who is currently the worst manager in the Bundesliga writes books about how he does it

Laugh

they should sack him at the end of the year and replace him with Loddar, who is actually a good manager

since Loddar cannot give decent interviews they should hire HIDDINK for that purpose

the Dutchie gave an EXCELLENT insight into his overrated brain in the PAPER version of the current Spiegel

where he talks a lot about Russian football

in the ONLINE version, his insights are rather tame

http://www.spiegel.de/sport/fussball/0,1518,653293,00.html

still

Loddar does the work and Hiddink TALKS

that would be it Ale

and bemoans the fact that nobody explains to him WHY

the leading German pessimist, who wants to be a LEADER, now tells us that Bayern don't quite have the players to win the CL yet

they need more reinforcements

Nerlinger says Bayern are happy with van Gaal but then increases the pressure

saying

we need points now

we need a SERIES, a RUN

THE PLAYERS ARE THERE

you two are right

a new name is needed and will be chosen in due course

---------

meanwhile, Nerlinger ups the pressure on van Gaal

saying

we need SHORT-TERM SUCCESS as well as the TITLE Smile

really, this is a turning point

the Bavarians are getting restless
