    Guti to Inter?

Post by bluenine on Wed Nov 11, 2009 10:55 am

I don't like the sound of that... we don't need Guti. But then, Madrid rejects have proven to be good business for Inter in the past (Cambiasso, Samuel, Sneijder...). Maybe we should wait a year for Madrid to get bored of Alonso Razz

Guti calls Sneijder about Inter Wednesday 11 November, 2009
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Real Madrid talisman Guti has reportedly telephoned former team-mate Wesley Sneijder about the prospect of joining Inter. The 32-year-old midfielder is out of favour at the Santiago Bernabeu after falling out with Manuel Pellegrini.

He has been frozen out of the first team after launching a tirade at Pellegrini following Real’s 4-0 defeat to Alcorcon last month in the Copa del Rey.

Il Corriere dello Sport understands Guti rang Sneijder to ask if he could persuade Inter President Massimo Moratti to intervene on his behalf.

Moratti was interested in signing the Spain international a couple of years ago, but it seems unlikely that Jose Mourinho would accept a player being foisted upon him who isn’t exactly getting any younger.

Inter would like to reinforce their central midfield, but with a young Italian like Parma’s Daniele Galloppa, who is a lifelong fan of the Nerazzurri.

Inter are apparently going to be very busy in the January transfer window mainly trying to sell Ricardo Quaresma and Amantino Mancini.

They are also looking to strengthen their attack, possibly with the signing of Lazio striker Goran Pandev, as Samuel Eto’o will be away in the spring playing for Cameroon in the African Nations Cup.

Take him please! We'll even throw in Gago for free while we're at it.

Seria A would be by far the worst place Guti could go. While he would get more time on the ball, he always struggles against organized defenses and it isn't a coincidence that he never does anything when we play Italian opposition (look at the Roma/Juventus CL ties as recent examples). Tactically he would also suffer tremendously, as his off the ball movement is horrible.

He would be better off going to England. Less time on the ball but its relatively chaotic nature would suit him a lot more.

Edit: Not to mention, the fact that he never tracks back would surely please Mourinho a lot. At least it would lead to a lot of comedic moments Laughing

I'll only believe this if I see him in an Inter shirt...if Mourinho gets pissed off at Balotelli, imagine what will happen when he has to handle Guti as well lol!

Gago would be a better option for Inter, plus they're running low on Argies atm.

Shockingly, we have 3 players in the Brasil starting XI, and none in the Argentina starting XI!!! Maradona is such a git of a manager.

Back on the topic, I just can't see Inter wanting Guti, we have no use for him.... but then, I wasn't keen on Cambiasso when we got him on a free, and that didn't turn out too bad Smile
