Is it Pep Guardiola? He's the manager of the best footballing side in the world and some say in history. He's won the European cup and may well be the first manager to retain it. But has it been too easy for him? Could most managers guide this Barca team that is blessed with such fantastic players to successive League titles and Champions League's?
Or is it Alex Ferguson?
He wanted to knock Liverpool off their perch and he's done just that. 11 Premier League titles, 3 in succession in the last 3 seasons and 2 European cups. He's spent a hell of a lot of money though in his time and his conduct has been questionable a lot of the time but you can't argue that his approach gets the best out of his players.
Another candidate is Jose Mourinho...To win the Champions League with Porto was a fantastic achievement but he wasn't able to win it with Chelsea. He did guide them to back to back Premier League's and has won the Italian League also. He's managed to guide his team to the semis of the CL this season and if he could get to the final and possibly win it then he'll go down as one of the all time greats.
Or is it someone else?
Rafa Benitez has come under much criticism this season but he pulled off one of the greatest achievements in football winning the Champions League in his first season with a mediocre Liverpool team. His titles at Valencia and his impressive Premier League campaign last season are evidence that he is a great manager but he's also had a lot of failings as well.
Wenger enjoyed large success with Arsenal and turned them into the greatest team in the world during their unbeaten season.
Ancelotti, Capello, Hiddink, Lippi and Van Gaal are also other candidates.
