Chile struggled against 10 man switzerland and still could go out.

Uruguay ditto struggled against this terrible france side. And they are not guaranteed to go through and if they do could face Argentina.

So again it probably will all rest on Brazil and Argentina. And im sure Cristiano will kick some Brazillian ass.

I'd rather struggle against a bad Italy than against Algeria. Wink

France were an embarasment to Europe, and Uruguay chalk up another win. Think it will only get worse for Europe tonight.

I don't think there is any shadow of doubt... so far, South American teams have done fantastically, far better than their euro counterparts.... 2 South American teams ve already topped their groups, and the other 3 are at the top with 1 game to go... there is a good chance that all 5 will make the next round, what a brilliant advert for south american football that ll be, before a world cup in that continent

Anyways, lets hope the euro teams start improving their game in the business end of the WC... a bipolar world cup provides better variety and contrasting styles for the neutral football fan (which I may become tomorrow or soon thereafter Sad )...

I'm loving this cause I know Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile, no matter how well they'll do from now won, will be stronger in 2014, and we'll have an extra spot. Colombia? Peru?

Those are my favourites. Don't laugh at Peru. Their clubs had the best Libertadores in many, many years. That means there's a reasonably good generation coming. ok

Oh, and I forgot Ecuador, that will have a great chance of qualifying due to the altitude (not South African altitude of under 1,800 m that means absolutely nothing - I'm talking about real altitude, that makes you struggle to breath and really changes the speed of the ball).

yes, and I consider them as real contenders in 2014. they are always very hard for Brazil to beat, it's still a clássico. in south america, those teams will really get stronger.

With a player like Vargas in the team, no one can laugh at Peru...

Anyways, forget 2014 for now. World Cup 2010 could end up becoming the best South American teams ever had... you could potentially have half the quarterfinalists, who would ve thought that possible!!

So far Spain, Italy, France and England let Europe down! OMFG it's just like the EU! But that was all to be expected!

Im mostly dissapointed in GERMANY though! Just when you think you are able to trust them, the let you down, stab you in the back..just like their role in the EU.

So tiny little humble innocent Holland now has to carry the burden of the entire EU AND the image of European Football worldwide.

What a task No

Thank god Dutch people are all freckin awesome and so much better then the rest! *starts the tune of Soldier of Orange

well, well, well, georgie boy.

first half of second round is set. 2 europeans, 2 south americans (all south americans of this half), 2 concacaf, 1 asian, 1 african.

since the euros will face each other now, we know for sure that we'll have at least 1 non-euro semi-fanalist.

since the winner of england-germany will have to play the argies, I come to the conclusion that we'll have at least 1 south american in the semis and the maximum of 2 europeans (from the other side).

argentina is guaranteed. the other of that half may be uruguay, ghana or usa.

cheers!!!

We're on course for 6-8 european teams to make the next round, how many for it to be called a failure?

SA teams are having their best WC for decades, brilliant, no one is saying different. That doesn't change the fact that for decades only Brazil and Argentina have come close to impressing.

Shame its looking its going to be

England vs Germany
Italy vs Holland
Spain vs Portugal

Then we probably also have 1 of Denmark or Swiss qualify as well.

Shame all the European teams will meet in the 2nd round !

I've always being convinced that Copa América IS a World Cup minus Italia and Germany.

However, them euro media c**ts, for decades said that the Euro "is a World Cup minust Brasil and Argentina". Fucking c**ts! They know fuck all about the game, and we know they talk nothing but SHITE all the time.

Perú, Colombia, Ecuador would be in the KO stages of WC 2010 had they had the chance to compete instead of that fucking garbage euro shite of Greece, Slovenia, Slovakia, Serbia, England, Denmark FFS!
