Liverpool have today completed the transfer of Yossi Benayoun to Chelsea Football Club.

The two clubs last month agreed an undisclosed fee for the player, who joined Liverpool from West Ham in 2007, and the deal has been confirmed this afternoon.

The 30-year-old Israeli international made 134 appearances and scored 29 goals during his three seasons with the Reds.

A Liverpool spokesman said: "Yossi's departure was agreed between the player and Rafael Benitez a number of weeks ago. Everybody at Liverpool FC wishes him well for the future."

Liverpool Football Club today confirmed the signing of Serbia international Milan Jovanovic.

The 29-year-old forward was one of Serbia's star performers at the World Cup, scoring the winner in a shock win over Germany. He penned a three-year deal at Melwood today before meeting some of his new teammates.

He said: "It is an honour for me to sign for one of the biggest clubs in football.

"I cannot wait to start working with the manager and I'm looking forward to joining up with my new teammates on our Swiss training camp."

Jovanovic spent the previous four years at Standard Liege, where he won Belgian Footballer of the Year in 2008 and the Golden Shoe in 2009.

Roy has his £5m left to spend on a left back and striker.

Riera has left hasn't he? I thought he was a free agent now.

Aurellio was on my brother's flight back from Portugal 2 days ago and said that he's trying to work out a pay as you play deal under Hodgson.

Pumas confirm West Ham deal
Barrera ready for move

UNAM Pumas have confirmed that they have agreed a deal with West Ham United for Pablo Barrera.

Barrera's future has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks following a string of impressive performances for his country at the World Cup.

Employed as an impact substitute in South Africa, Barrera caught the eye with his lightning pace and helped Mexico reach the last 16.

His displays reportedly attracted the attention of several European clubs including Espanyol, Celtic and West Ham's Premier League rivals Everton.

But it is the Hammers who have won the chase for the 23-year-old's signature, snapping him up for an undisclosed fee believed to be in the region of £4million.

The president of Pumas, Victor Mahbub, announced the transfer was now completed and Barrera would travel to England this weekend.

"We have just finished the negotiations for transferring Pablo Barrera to West Ham. We and the player are satisfied with the arrangement that we have done with West Ham," Mahbub told Mediotiempo.
Four-year deal

"Barrera will be signing a four-year contract, then in two or three years be transferred to another team.

"We got to a satisfactory agreement for both parts and I want to make clear that there wasn't any agent involved in the negotiations, everything was done from one club to the other and for respecting both teams we have arranged the transfer."

Barrera himself stated he was looking forward to his move and said: "I have been informed during the afternoon on Friday that my transfer to West Ham has been arranged.

"Now I am starting to get very anxious about travelling to England so I can join my new team, know my team-mates, the stadium, the city, everything."

You'd think Taylor would maybe want to go to a club where he'll actually play some games at some point in his career. But I suppose it's a pretty nice life getting PL wages to sit on the bench, no stress or pressure.

Yes we were (he had a useful knack of scoring important goals), but idiots who runs Everton didn't offer him a written contract in time, so we'll lose him for free. They were hoping that verbal agreement will be enough and they expected loyalty from modern football player Doh

Shocking. Still, I think he'll get more first team opportunities at Newcastle.

Be interesting to see what Kimbo and Bash think about this.

They should be happy - he is a decent player, good workrate, decent on the ball, knows how to score and they've got him for free. IMHO at the moment he is their best midfielder behind Guthrie and Jonas, but probably he is still 3 months away from coming back from an injury.

I am really unhappy losing him, but it looks like we have a replacement ready - young French Gueye was playing well at friendlies in Australia, he should get Gosling minutes. Also Anichebe is progressing rapidly as a wide midfielder.

Yeh, I heard he won't be back until November.

Newcastle can't be having alot of injries. Their squad is pretty thin as it is.
