Lehmann REVEALS ALL

Post by  on Tue Jul 06, 2010 12:20 pm

MAD Jens reveals ALL in his autobiography

cheers

he tells us that Almunia shouted at him on the training ground

"Bastardo, Bastardo..."

cheers

that Gallas was a PETULANT Frenchie

in fact, Jens tells us that French footballers have a DIFFERENT MENTALITY to German players

whereas a German feels responsible for HIMSELF and his own fate and therefore tries to pick himself up when things are not going well

a Frenchie tends to resign himself to his fate and BLAMES the OTHERs

Shocked

Jens RAVES about Wenger as a manager Yikes

he also RAVES about the World Class players at Arsenal, Vieira in particular

the GIANT tells us that when he left Milano Houllier wanted him at Liverpool

so he hopped on the plane and had a look

unfortunately, it was raining cats and fucking dogs

which seemed to confirm every prejudice he had about England

+

the Liverpool TRAINING camp was so POOR , compared to the AC Milan one (which he calls the BEST in the WORLD)

that he felt it was like chosing between a Ferrari and a Mini

THAT WAS THAT for Mad Jens

so he just signed for Dortmund

cheers

Jens also tells us why English players do not have the mentality to do well at the World /European Cup

but more of that later

cheers Whistle

Now that could be a latin trait. I noticed that in the Portuguese team in recent games, but they don't blame others, they blame C.Ronaldo...

did he not play with Adams, Parlour, Ashley, Cole, Campbell...and this weird black English striker in the early days...?

anyway

Jens says about the English that they rely TOO much on what the gaffer says

they NEED instructions and when they don't get them don't know what to do

since the coach's instructions quickly become obsolete when a game develops in unexpected ways

Jens believes English players are often LOST

which could explain why they find it so difficult to regroup in the World/European Cups when they need to figure out different tactics and strategies during the game

themselves

Adams retired after the 2002 FA Cup final, but you could add Keown to your list.

I doubt this book is going to be published in English so any additional info from it will be much appreciated. Ale

you could also add Walcott, I suppose

if there's interest , we could do a little "Lehmann reveals ALL" QUIZ

but would need at least FIVE participants

one question could be

according to Mad Jens , who is the SECOND most important person at Arsenal (after Wenger) ?

or

who is the BEST player Jens has EVER played against + who is the BEST player Jens has ever played WITH ?

or

how did the Mad Jens - Berkamp duo become leading entertainers in the Arsenal dressing room?

to anglo

you should take a look at the Jens bio

it will shed some light on the Babbel-chaos days

+

gives you some indication as to why Stuttgart will ALWAYS have a problem becoming a really BIG European player

I'm still digesting the interview Hitz gave to 11Freunde - which proved me right on a couple of issues (such as Horst Heldt's character). But thanks for the recommendation.

Thierry Henry RAVES about German football(ers), the Bundesliga, the Mannschaft...

http://www.welt.de/sport/fussball/article10159226/Thierry-Henry-Ich-liebe-diesen-Thomas-Mueller.html

(in German)

there are quite a few good anecdotes in Jens' biography about Henry, the primadonna, who needed to be taught a lesson or two Smile

Jens unplugged also has a VERY chinteresting chapter about the Mannschaft under Ribbeck

when we got kicked out in the first round of the Euros (by Portugal B)

apparently, Ribbeck was so incompetent, and the management team (also consisting of Stielike and Hrubesch) so DISUNITED

that the whole campaign quickly became a farce

DURING one training session the three could not agree on what to do and started to discuss further proceedings

initially , the players just watched and waited

then they kept themselves busy by just playing 5 vs 5, doing shooting practise, whereas some just LEFT the pitch and waited in the bus in disgust

Laugh

kind of confirms 100% what I also thought

that year we could have done not only FAR BETTER, but really, probably, REALLY WELL

maybe even winning the thing outright

Ribbeck fluffed it though

the good thing is, the STUPID idiots at the DFB and in the media concluded the reason for the fiasco was a lack of TALENTS

and therefore initiated all those DFB youth initiatives (training camps) leading to the endless conveyor belt of TALENTS

so

some good came out of it

Otto, you are a card.

Even if you'd had Jesus managing the Mannshaft in 2000, no team with Carsten Jancker, Jens Nowotny and Christian Ziege in it was going to ever win the competition.

we could EASILY have won the in 2000

EASILY

Ribbeck fucked it up though

as for the above three

Ziege: one of the ALL TIME Spurs' LEGENDS

just like Freund <Ale>

Jancker: one of my favourite German footballers of ALL TIME; and one of the LAST GERMAN MEN alive

Nowotny: he currently plans a SECOND career

reading Harry Potter and one of the Vampire books , he decided to become a FANTASY WRITER himself

lol!

as far as I understand , he is working on his first book now, but wants to take ALL the time HE NEEDS

which

hopefully

is

VERY LONG

Biggrin

still

imagine, ZEROoney trying to pen a novel having just read Harry Potter

Laugh

-----------------------

MAD JENS on 2000:

"Ribbeck tried to explain tactics and formations using a bunch of ORANGES; nobody understood what he was trying to say with his fruit-salad; I don't think he knew himself;

" we just did not operate as a team; the tabloids presented Loddar as the LEADER and were obsessed with him; Bierhoff was the official captain but rather isolated; and then we had the Bayern faction doing their own thing"

Jens also explains why Babbel was so good when he took over from Veh but failed completely at the start of the next season when things started to go pear-shaped

there is also a wonderful anecdote about Babbel's disciplinary methods

when VfB were in freefall, he wanted to punish or shake up the team; so he got rid of single-bed-rooms in hotels and put two players in one room

Jens was furious, pointing out that all players had different rythyms/habits and would just end up DISTURBING each other making the team even less successful

Babbel would not cave in, so Jens and Hleb BOOKED single-rooms THEMSELVES in the same hotel respectively

Laugh

Babbel found out and gave them a penalty

but Hleb could not be bothered so he asked his sister to book a new room in her name instead , which she did

Laugh

Jens also moans about Swabian stingyness

once, VfB had a friendly up north (St Pauli , I think)

for some reason, they missed their plane back to Stuttgart, and went back by train

they ended up in Regionalzgen and somewhere near Karlsruhe shared a compartment with a bunch of larger louts

Jens thinks the operational team manager responsible for this nonsense would have been SACKED immediately at Arsenal, but the Stuttgarters were just cost conscious

when Jens extended his contract at VfB by a year, his MAIN DEMAND was that the "home-team-lockerroom at VfB" would get NEW FLOOR TILES

Laugh

the GIANT says that they were so worn out and unhygenic looking that he even feared for the safety/hygene of his feet in his shower-sandals

the club had simply been too STINGY once again to even offer CLEAN facilities

Yikes

VfB will NEVER become one of the greats in Europe

but then again, neither will HSV (unless they get MAGATH)

ric

we COULD have won in 2000 with the players we HAD

simple as that

but somehow EVERYTHING went wrong and conspired against us

with Scholl, Deisler and Co we had REAL talent on the pitch as well

anyway

the CONVEYOR BELT revolution started because of that historical failure

one of those blessing-in-disguise-situations, I think

--------------

this is the book, alley

---------------

as for the quiz

feel free to answer the first quiz qustions posted in one of the early posts

the others on here do not seem that interested to make a competition out of it

-------------

the book is indeed readable and worth having

then again

it's probably going to be out in paper-back soon anyway, so you might want to wait

-----------

there is also a good anecdote about Schalke's Eurofighters that supports my "Dutch coaches are shite" theory by at least 7%

ie

the only "good" Dutch coach I can think of is Huub Stevens

based on his UEFA Cup triumph

Jens, HOWEVER, now points out that the BIRTH of the Eurofighters had NOTHING to do with Stevens AT ALL

lol!

rather, the season before or so, Schalke were relegation bound and hired one of those Feuerwehrtrainer

cannot remember the name, maybe Berger or Rber ?!

anyway

the rescue mission worked wonders, primarily , because the manager was VERY TOUGH and put great emphasis on hard work and discipline

once Schalke were out of the relagation zone, Berger/or Rber LOST INTEREST though

Jens believes the coach had little faith in the ablities of the players and stepped off the gas

TO THE DISMAY OF THE PLAYERS

who felt they were not training nearly HARD ENOUGH

the MANNSCHAFT then decided to have EXTRA training sessions WITHOUT the coach

on a voluntary basis

out of 24 players something like 21 turned up

the whole thing led to an ECLAT

when the entire squad went to the Sportstudio to defend "undermining" the coach

Lehmann points out that these experiences were the BIRTH-MOMENT of the legendary EUROFIGHTERS that would fight for each other like LIONS and end up winning the UEFA Cup

ie

fuck Stevens

yeah Smile

a true Klner

"Pol(d)izist"

Laugh

-----------------

as for the quiz

allez has now also lost interest it seems, so here comes the first answer

the "BEST player" Jens has EVER played against , who would drench him in sweat WAS

FAT RONALDO

Ale

even when he was not very mobile in his later years, he could create something out of nothing and you had to concentrate EVERY SECOND of the GAME

--------------

the SECOND most important person at Arsenal, after Wenger, is a chap called Rawley (sp)

he is responsible for SCOUTING

and seems to be the man who really discovers and hires(together with Arsene) the next superstars

even if Wenger gets all the credit

the Englander also has the office next to Wenger's and is really THE rainmaker of Arsenal

Ale

-------------

still

Jens calls Arsenal : "as French as Camembert"

I bet THAT is the reason why allez and tweeds support the gunners

what happened when JENS

on his FIRST day at Arsenal

sat down at the French/African table ?

a) one of the players welcomed him with his funny "school-German" ?

b) Henry asked Jens to get up onto the table and sing a German song, utterly humiliating the proud Teuton in the process ?

c) they just ignored him continuing to speak French exclusively

The last one. But I reckon that would have been Paddy and some of the others if Titi had had anything to do with it he'd have sorted the others out and made them behave, and in the process got Jens to sing a song.

Is it available in paperback yet?
