lol! Pity the fool who came up with the rankings formula and determined that a team gets more points for beating Switzerland (let alone the Maltas, Montenegros, San Marinos of UEFA) than Brasil and Argentina.

That other piece of shite ELO rankings is severely skewed (but not as much as that sack of shite FIFA rankings FFS! lol! ) as well, they're both extremely eurocentric.

Folks! Europe has a lot of SHITE! but try to say that to the Khazars in FIFA and ELO. When two shites play against each other, in real life it's more shite, but for the 'Peons rankings it's the most positive points them shite teams can obtain. That's why England is fourth. FIFA must be having a laugh. lol!

You must have been foaming at the mouth and shakey hands when you wrote this, as it's not even English Laughing

The best thing about England being 4th is how angry it makes some people. Brilliant cheers

I dont think these standings are so wrong.

The contenders: Spain with Holland a bit behind.

Pretenders: Brazil, England and Germany

Teams that are in transition: Italy, France, Portugal, Argentina etc.

Holland ahead of Germany is a bigger joke than England ahead of Brazil. True story mon ami. Ale

Things will normalise next month anyway. Brazil and Argentina went down because they were deducted the points for the last Copa America that took place exactly 4 years ago (both played the final). FiFA rankings count the matches of the last four years.

Holland beat Brazil in the last World Cup. Something Germany hasn't done EVER yes?

Otherwise, good banter. Keep it up

Hmmm, strange blut..what about now?

One could argue about England over Brazil perhaps, but Holland over Germany is a given, even before the WC Holland was above Germany.

And rightly so of course. This Holland is just like Charlie Sheen ffs, it just keeps #winning!

lol!

Brazil and Germany have played one, ONE, competitive match against each other in their entire history. And that was arguably the worst German national team to make a WC final ever.

Germany have beaten Portugal numerous times in the knock-out stages. Something neither Holland nor England have done YES?

English logic...

You mean before the WC when Holland wiped the floor with has-been teams like Italy and France during the 2008 Euro group stages, just to get spanked by Russia in the 1/4 finals? The same tournament in which Germany made the final despite being disappointing by their high standards (you'd love to be as 'disappointing' - you even cheer for your that ridiculous excuse of football you play these days; De Jong makes Ramelow look like Xavi...)? The same Russia that lost to Germany home and away in the WC qualification afterwards, the first time at home in their history?

Face it Fey, you were lucky not to meet a proper team earlier in the tournament, e.g. us, otherwise you'd have been toast way before reaching the final that seems to completely blinded you from reality!

Arguably the most rigged match of the tournament in which Eusebio was kicked off the pitch right, left and center with no consequences whatsoever.

But you paid for your sins in '66, and will continue to do so for eternity... Ale

I wasn't. I didn't say EVER, even if that would be true for Holland actually, the team we're talking about here (England just thrown in for fun, irrelevant anyway). The point still stands, it's Gouda-Marmite logic.

PS. when does Germany have to pay for its '82 sins? Fact they did not win tournament does not excuse anything.. If nothing else, any retributive footballing God would surely have condemned Germany to eternal penalty pain after the horrible robbery of France.

I seriously had the recent times in mind when I made that point. And it's hardly a cheap dig even, just a team that both Holland and England traditionally haven't looked good against. So by Bernd's 'logic', Germany are ahead of Holland because of that.

66' fades from your memory if you don't have to watch it every other week on TV, so apologies.

It was the second best match of all time, right after the "match of the century" in 1970 between Italy and Germany. It really had everything and is an all time classic. For that alone, the Battiston incident has been forgiven. But Germany did pay with two lost WC finals in that decade. Sins have been more than adequately compensated. England never was good enough to really compensate anything. You'd need to lose a few WC finals first, provided you make it there again...

A classic for sure, but the ending was all wrong. If goodness had prevailed, it would've been beautiful. As it was, the sight of Schumacher celebrating saps the viewer's hope that anything good exists in the world and thus whatever entertainment came before is forgotten in a fog of despair.

Justice will not even begin to have been done until Germany suffers several decades of penalty shootout despair.

Hahaha....bitter much? Hell, that match even had a German player (Stielike) miss a penalty, the only time in WC history! What else could the neutral ask for? That overhead kick by Fischer to make it 3:3 in the 108th can not be topped, considering the stakes and stage. How much brilliant entertainment this side, one of the more pragmatic German sides actually, provided.

Ungrateful, hateful debbie. Without Germany, international football would only be half as good, all those all time classic matches that would be missing. True story.

Don't bow to the hateful Teuton viper Debbie! Everyone knows Germany are and were the epitome of evil.

I urge you to name me a more spirit destroying demonic image than the German euro 96 team standing on some balcony back in the Motherland chanting "it's coming home" in that horribly evil monotone German accent that keeps kids up at night, in a clear mockery of England who both devised the song itself and were only beaten by a mis placed penalty. That was the margin of difference for a team so apparently superior. It helps to have no soul when taking penalties, hence why Germany are incredibly good at them.

It's also no surprise Germany have had so much success when they've only had to play the best team in the history of the World Cup just the once. So at least we can all agree Germanys continual luck in the draw. And finally , Germany have never even beat the Samba boys in a friendly(...is this true??!) so remain Brazils bitch and if FIFA didn't keep rigging the draw we d see more German misery for sure. Still some way to go to be deemed better than the Dutch AKA the Samba slayers.

Let's have it Blut!

Germans have plenty of soul, in fact invented the damn thing, just don't have expressions on their faces. I thought Blut had cleared this up already.

It's the Dutch who have, Faust-like, sold their soul.

Ladies and gentleman we finally got a bite!

It was eerily quiet along the Western Front. It felt uncomfortable, like Blut and Allez were lulling us into a false sense of security before deploying a devastating blitzkrieg using Panzer tanks and pincer tactics. (That's me now out of cliched World War II metaphors for a few days)

The only souls I know that exist in Germany are the bottoms of these: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birkenstock

It's the eyes that give it away. Watch any German penalty shoot out and it's impossible to avoid the dead, empty expression on their player's faces as they step up. Should a cameraman have the courage to zoom in a close up shot, the flaming pits of hell can clearly be seen flickering away at the back of the pupils.

Legend has it that look too long into a German footballers eyes and whatever remnants of humanity you have left will be sucked from your person and confined for eternity within Lucifer's underworld. If you ask around, you should be able to find the tortured spirits of Stuart Pearce, Chris Waddle and Gareth Southgate who all spontaneously combusted from the inside when staring too long into the eyes of successive German goalkeepers.

The Dutch, on the other hand, are simple people who enjoy cheese and crack cocaine. They've yet to sign a pact with the devil, hence their perfection of coming second
