Beckham was a business decision foremost, it made Real some good money, probably worth breaking one of good old Santiago Bernabéu's core principles*... Wink

According to AS, Valdano was sacked because he didn't want Altintop, who he believes to be an "average player and not good enough for Real Madrid". That's supposed to be the last straw at least.

Whatever, by sacking Valdano, Real Madrid have given Mourinho a free reign. The board must be pretty desperate for success to do so to be honest. And it means that winning by all means is now Real's maxim - the club's identity of not just winning, but winning 'beautifully' is a thing of the past.

If that's genuinely the reason, then I think a lot of fans will be on Valdano's side for that one lol!

The point is that Perez is known for keeping quiet about tranfers and dismissing them.

Super, I remember you to be a very strong advocate of attacking football and 'playing the game how it is meant to be played'? What happened? What made you such a cynic? Smile

I recognized that defensive football can be great to watch as well. I don't think football was "meant" to be played in any certain style, otherwise the rules should reflect that. If football is about anything, imo, then it is about competition. In that case "each one aims to reach the goal by a different path". Liking defensive football doesn't make you a cynic. It is merely about different aesthetics.

Think the sheichs will make a ridiculous bid and sign him in the end. The big clubs don't really need him.

2-1 for Liverpool to sign Agüero? I'd hold on to your money. They are more likely to buy Joey Barton.

Destinos.

A mí me gusta", afirmó.

He certainly looks good and even better then Robinho did when he was young but at the same time he seems like has an even bigger ego then Robinho had at that age. I wouldn't trust him to deliver in Europe, at least right away. He should go to a smaller club first and prove himself.

Santos didn't accept a 35m euros offer from Chelsea. He plays for a big club in Brazil and will stay here unless a big euro club comes with an offer of over 45m euros.

But yes, his ego may be a problem. He was also a big diver, but Santos new coach has been teaching him how to play like a proper footballer.

I never believed in Robinho, but I guess Neymar will be the next great sensation of world football. He's too good.

Anyway, have a look at Copa América to see him.

But that is kind of the problem. These kids are so highly valued that they can't get the experience they need in small clubs first. From what I have been reading about him I don't trust that he is up for it mentally to play in Europe. I know Santos is a big club but Europe is a different beast and especially if he seeks out a top club.

To me he seems like a better version of Robinho but with the same mental and physical flaws. At least Robinho had won two league titles and help take his team to the Copa Libertadores final. So Neymar seems even less prepared even if Robinho was part of a good generation of players at Santos at the time. If I was his advisor I would tell him to wait some years like Kaka and try to cut a deal so he can try a midlevel club in Italy or Spain first like Pastore.

If you're interested, you better sign him now, as Brazilian players tend to be washed up when they hit their late 20s.

Talking about Brazilians, Kaka denied the transfer rumours and intends to stay in Madrid.
