    1) eto'o: has won it all 3 time over and is the man for the big occasions, he goals to game ratio is as good as most as well.
    2) Sheva: at his best was something special
    3) RVN: great great goal score, if nothing else
    4) Henry: flat track bully but still pretty good
    5) Ronaldo: not at his best in this decade but still has to be their
    6) Villa: great goal score, at club and international level.
    7) Ibra: did great things in italy this decade
Cool Drogba: an absolute beast, could be higher if he didn't choke in the CL when his team really really needs him
    9) Klose: have to give him credit for what he has one in the two world cups this decade
    10)?

Spot on, though I don't like these things 'cos not everyone fits neatly into a decade slot - eg '95-05 would be Ronaldo and Kluivert but not sure either fits 1990-2000 or 2000 to 2010.

Not too bad a list, but Drogba that low? and the reasoning seems flawed, e.g. drogba is low due to "choking" in the CL, but Ibra is above him? I'd have droba above most, possibly at number 2. And RVN so high as well, when Henry outscored him almost every season they were in the same league (from memory).

I don't know if Totti is considered a striker but him in there. What about Darren Bent, he's had a pretty good decade except when he was misused at spurs Wink

Ibra his above drogba because they both choke in the CL, ibra more than drogba, but ibra has been better in domestic play, something like 6 league titles in a row.

Has he been better in domestic play? I remember 2-3 good seasons in Italy over the last 6 years.

He was hardly instrumental in the last title race for barca, whereas Drogba was for chelsea.

And some of the titles you are talking about are Juve where they cheated, or Inter where no-one competed with them, so it is hardly an impressive list.

Also I don't consider Drogba to have choked in the CL. He is very involved in getting chelsea as far as they have done pretty much every season. Just because chelsea hve gone out by the odd goal or penalties does not mean Drogba has choked. Compare that to Ibra who is usually just missing in big CL games.

Perhaps it would not be in the realms of the absurd to suggest that someone other than a Brazilian, or even a Brazilian other than those three, might get into the "three greatest players ever"?

Are players like Totti, C Ronaldo & Messi in the consideration set? Assuming they are, and considering only the performances in 2000-10:

    (In no particular order)

    Shevchenko
    Eto'o
    Drogba
    Ronaldo
    Totti
    Messi
    C Ronaldo
    Ibrahimovic
    Van Nistelrooy
    Henry

If we are only looking at strikers and exclude Totti, Messi, & CR, then I would include Vieri, Villa and Crespo in their place.
