Decent. A consistent 6 or 7 out of 10 player since his signing. Which isn't bad, considering some of the recent signings we've made. I think he'll be better with a full pre-season to gel with the team. His best position seems to be in central midfield, but he takes too many touches there. On the flank, his many touches are ok because it means he keeps moving towards the box and a better crossing position.

Absolute fucking idiotic attempt at passing their way out the back, and Mascherano concedes a penalty. Real Sociedad take the lead.

Fucking retarded way to throw the game away. The home side kept pumping crosses in, got more physical and pressured the ball, and our midfield and attackers just fell asleep.

Idiots.

what a stupid way to throw away points... leading 1-0 and now losing 2-1...

The players are clearly not thinking about this game, but day dreaming about Tuesday.. The only one that has added a little danger is Messi..

Most of Real's danger in the 2nd half came down our left flank, no coincidence that was where Fontas was playing. He's a natural CB, not a fullback, so once they started overloading that flank, it was always going to be trouble. And in hindsight, Pep made a mistake with the sub for Pique - should have been Busquets rather than Mascherano, because at least it would maintain some height against the crosses.

btw, Milito injured again. What a waste of wages. Surely him and Jeffren (another who's injured often) have to be let go this summer.

Villarreal leading 2-1 against Getafe with just a few mins to go.

With Zaragoza getting a big win yesterday, and Malaga today (Baptista is on fire for them, how crucial has his return to fitness been! ) it's now up to Osasuna, Getafe, and Depor to fight to stay away from the last relegation spot. Almeria are relegated, just a bizarre miracle would save them.

In the battle for Europe, the top 4 looks secure. Europa League spots will be a fight to the death between Sevilla, Atletico, and Athletic. I favour the first two to get it.

But won't the 7th place league now get a EL spot since both Copa del Rey finalists will be in the CL?

No comments at all on yesterday's games! Main talking point is obviously Madrid's 6-2 demolition of Sevilla, including 4 goals from Ronaldo.

Barcelona derby is about to kick off in 30 mins or so. Fontas at LB again for Barça:

Valdés
Alves, Piqué, Mascherano, Fontàs
Xavi, Busquets, Iniesta
Messi, Villa, Pedro

Madrid were brilliant last night for how poor Sevilla were.

Ronaldo-Kaka-Ozil-Benzema combined magnificently.

I don't really know where Madrid could strengthen bar a better defensive mid than Khedira who I don't really rate and a better wide forward than Di Maria who again for me is too inconsistent.

Perhaps an extra defender as well.

Kaka definitely still has a lot of ability if used properly.

Halftime 1-0. Iniesta with the goal. He's definitely a much better player when he agrees to take shots on goal.

Midweek fixtures underway!

60' Deportivo 1-1 Athletic
19' Malaga 1-0 Sporting
19' Racing 0-1 Atletico

Julio Baptista opened the scoring for Malaga. If I am not mistaking that is 9 goals for him since returning to la Liga in January. This is his Sevilla goalscoring rate. Shocked

I love Baptista. In his current form, he's a banker. Ridiculous odds.

One more goal from him and I'll be hysterical Smile

Own goal in the Riazor puts Deportivo in front. Would be a massive three points if they can hang on...

Everything soooooo close at the bottom of the table. Deportivo jumped from 18th to 14th with those three points (and a lot of games yet to be played). Someone with well over 40 points is going to get relegated.

@Stinger, hope you saw and took my tip.

Wincast comes through @ 3/1

So unlucky with the second bet, 2 goals or more @ 13/1.

Great odds.

Mesut 'Zauberfuß' Özil. Assist after assist.

Ronaldo is going to win the pichichi, which is probably more important to him than winning the league with the team...

Benzema scores after a minute on the pitch. Maybe Mourinho should have played him in the clasicos instead, a forward who is actually skillful and doesn't have a touch of a rapist.

Ozil & Benzema never played together in the clasicos. Missed the trick there.
