Mercado de verano: La Liga Transfer Thread - Summer 2011

Post by Jaime on Sun Feb 20, 2011 3:57 pm

I feel like every year I am starting this thread earlier and earlier. BUT there are a lot of deals already happening ahead of next summer's transfer window. I will start the table and edit accordingly over the next several months. In the meantime, feel free to discuss all of the comings and goings (rumours and confirmed deals) for la liga teams here. Ale

Apparently Piotr Trochowski will be joining Sevilla next summer on a free after being out of contract with HSV.

Afellay already wants to leave Barca it seems.

He should never gone there in the first place me thinks, but you can see he has improved by just being there. But a player at his age should play weekly.

Yeah, even Thiago is getting a chance ahead of him. If they really do go after Cesc in the summer, then Afellay will definitely be off. Pity, I'd like to keep him and play him more often.

Only chance for Afellay in Barca would be a situation, in which he would play well as wide forward. Unfortunately he doesn't feel comfortable there, so he's competing for 2 CM spots, when opposition is clearly superior to him.

Anyone had a chance to watch this Coke Andújar?

It's even more difficult for Afellay, as when playing in "false 9" system wide forwards are more aften than in standard 4-3-3 asked to attack a space behind full back and central defender. It's clearly not a Afellay game.

More likely he will go on loan for the next two years and then be sold for a bag of balls. (See Martin Caceres).

Both Barca's wide men these days would be centre players at pretty much any club/ in the classic 4-4-2 interpretation. There's so much creativity in the centre of the pitch: Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, the forwards wide players have to look to finish moves off. Affelay wont really do this. He'd work for Arsenal though Whistle

Sahin for 6 million would be the steal of the century. It would also means Madrid would actually do a good deal for a change. Though Ozil came also rather cheap I believe.

If they can also get Xavi and Iniesta they have my dreammidfield:

Valencia and Villarreal also interested in Gameiro; according to Marca Gameiro's preference is actually Villarreal. Villarreal would be interested in the striker if they end up losing Nilmar or Giuseppe Rossi.

Maybe, especially since I have Kuyt and Messi upfront, perhaps swap Messi for Eto'o or Rooney then to have more power upfront.

If they can also get Xavi and Iniesta they have my dreammidfield:

------Ozil---

€13m for Ozil compared to €65m for Kaka ffs!!!!

€13m is a good deal. Still though it was something like €4m. €65m for Kaka..well..it's a bit too much.

Speaking of, anoyone else notices that Brazilians arent as reliable as they are used to be. Kaka, Dinho, Adriano, Robinho etc..after 25 they turn shite. Which of course should be the opposite.

IE Brazilian footballers are the equivalent of an Alfa Romeo!

Rumours from Valencia: the club will be looking to sell Miguel, Navarro, Dealbert, Ricardo Costa, Maduro, Banega, and possibly Bruno this summer. Vicente is out of contract and it does not look like he will be given an extension either. They have already secured Diego Alves and Adil Rami for next year. Being linked with Mikel Arteta and Albert Riera. In addition, other priorities seem to be centre back and right back.

Gazzetta: Ronaldo to Milan? Could be possible. Berlusconi's dream could come true. 100 million euros.
