I know what Glenns' answer is going to be to this Smile

I've been a football supporter from 2000, in that time we've had Houllier, Rafa, Roy and Kenny.

Kenny hasn't had enough time yet. I'd place Rafa at the top by some distance although Houllier won trophies nothing will eclipse what Rafa did for us in Europe.

Roy doesn't even deserve a mention. If I was to do a list of the whole history then Shankly, Paisley and Fagan would no doubt be the top 3. Rafa probably would have eclipsed Fagan if he was given a few more years. Paisley was probably the greatest of all time.

Bagnoli,
Cuper,
Simoni

Mourinho,
Mancini,
Trapattoni

is the obvious list based on success / impact.

The man who took us to Europe for the first time, to a European final, and got us our first ever trophy,
The man who got us Juninho, Emerson, Ravanelli etc..and cup finals.
The man who was a great guy and a good captain..took over and destroyed us. Bittersweet.

I second that.... Tho Cuper wasn't such a favourite with me, I would replace him with Mancini... Bagnoli, I haven't heard that name in years!!
All time, in terms of success:
1. Herrera
2. Mourinho
3. Mancini

What? No Zac?? Razz

I guess I have the benefit of half a decade more, so if I have to pick the top 3 milan coaches in terms of success, I would pick:
1. Capello 1991-96 = 4 Scudetti, 1 CL (3 finals), in 5 seasons
2. Sacchi 1987-91 = 1 Scudetto, 2 CLs in 4 seasons
3. Ancelotti 2001-09 = 1 Scudetto, 2 CLs (3 finals) in 8 seasons

Of course, Sacchi should get additional benefit of building a legendary side, a great platform for Capello to shine. And Ancelotti had little investment in his last 3 years... but still, having faced all 3 sides from an opponent point of view, I feared Capello's Milan the most... it was a fuckin ruthless machine, I still remember rejoycing Marsielle's 1993 CL final win like it was a victory for Mankind over Machine, very much like the climax of the Terminator movie of that time Razz

We sometimes forget that Capello's reign at Milan coincided with the most glorious phase of Serie A, when the league was at the height of its competitiveness, with 6-7 contenders and the smallest of teams boasting of world cup stars... And Milan set an all time unbeaten record at THAT level of competition. No wonder people say that Capello underachieved in Europe even though he made 3 CL finals in 5 seasons, his team had blown all expectations sky high!

Jol
Redknapp
Gerry Francis - thought he did quite well for us in the mid 90's.
