Look it all comes down to what we do against Barcelona doesn't it? The last two years we have taken more points from the rest of the league than Barcelona but taken a whopping 1 from 12 against the cules. If Team Mou can do the business against Menos Que Un Club then I will be the first one to get a tattoo of Jose's face on my ass and fly the Progress flag high. I am not convinced no matter how bad Barcelona are going at the moment that we will beat them. The thought of Khedira trying to play against Xavi and Iniesta, the more than probably disappearing act that Ozil will pull, Pepe getting red carded in the first 10 minutes after karate kicking someone on the subs bench, and Ronaldo blasting shots from all over the pitch 30 metres too high, well, if it happens let's say I won't be surprised. I am happy to be proved wrong, however.

The point of the league is to constantly be ahead of your competitors no matter your own form. Mou is doing this now.

Well I certainly am not going to bet against my own team if that is what you are insinuating. But if we beat Barcelona on 10 Dec I will change my avatar to Mourinho of my own free will. I have my opinions like everyone else but I am not afraid to say I was wrong. IF I am proven wrong.

Well you will forgive me for being skeptical given the fact we have not beaten you at all, save the Copa del Rey final, since the 07-08 season.

In non-Real Madrid/Barcelona news...

Thought Cuper might at least make Racing a little more difficult to play against but they really have not shown much. It doesn't help that they have nobody who can score goals. That Indian fella must really have had no idea what he was getting into when he bought Racing last year. Laughing

I can't quite work out what it is with Vela. He's a very talented player no doubt - maybe he was bit too lightweight for the EPL, but he never really seemed to do anything unless we were already a couple of goals up.

He had a really nice season a couple years back when he was on loan with Osasuna. I don't think he's made a real impact at Real Sociedad, at least not yet.

A real shame about Reyes. He could be so devastating at times for Atletico. If he applied himself I think he would be able to even get into the national team. He was that good and has that much talent. I wonder why there isn't more clubs after him.

He is vastly talented there is no doubt about that but I think people have generally come to assume that at some point his temperament or his laziness will get the better of him and so clubs aren't really interested in pursuing him.

Still for a midlevel club he would more than deserve the freedom he needs and could produce the results. I honestly think that of his generation of Spanish Am's(Iniesta/Silva/Cesc) he had the biggest potential. He can do all sorts of passes whether it be short simple one-two's, throughballs, long diagonals, crosses. His dribbling is varied and effective and it doesn't depend on pace because he certainly isn't as fast as he used to be. Compared to the aforementioned players he is by the best in terms of shooting. His finishing is good and so is his long shots. Silva/Iniesta can play on the wings but both essentially want to do the same thing and are only really effective when they do it, which is cutting it. Reyes is effective whether he is cutting it from the right or as a natural left winger. A real shame because Spain might have been more interesting than with the current tiki taka crap if their two great wingers Joaquin and Reyes had gotten the most out of it. Erm

No I agree he could have been the best player of his generation. He really does have that kind of ability. I suppose in some ways Galatasaray is a midlevel club. If he wanted out or Manzano was forcing him out or whatever he didn't really have any option but to leave Spain, for now. Neither Madrid or Barcelona were going to be interested and I doubt Atletico would want to sell him to one of their direct rivals for CL/EL places. I think his move to Turkey will be a fail. But from there he can probably engineer a move back home.
