I scored one like that in my over 30 mens 6 a side league last Sunday as well. Doesn't mean I should be playing for Real Madrid. Biggrin

Depends if your a "facking runner", Mourinho might be interested Wink Whistle

Sahin is not Khedira's competition, it actually looks like he is going to be Alonso's backup. When fit, Khedira will play. If anything, the Portuguese LB may become his competition in the central midfield.

From what I've seen, Khedira is the definition of a facking runner, much moreso than Coentrao.

no hes not, his attacking runs far more than headless going forward

his passing and one touch football abiltiy lifts him up in comparison to other so called destroyers or 6ers or DM`s, or how ever you call his position, for stuttgart he played as attacking midfielder

and he has the physis to run from box to box during the whole game

Suspect

That is the worst part of his game based on last year. Especially when he is under pressure.

5 Argentina MF Fernando Gago
6 Germany MF Sami Khedira
7 Portugal FW Cristiano Ronaldo
8 Brazil MF Kaká
9 France FW Karim Benzema
10 Germany MF Mesut Özil
11 Spain MF Esteban Granero
12 Brazil DF Marcelo (vice-captain)
13 Spain GK Antonio Adán
14 Spain MF Xabi Alonso
15 Portugal DF Fábio Coentrão
17 Spain DF Álvaro Arbeloa
18 Spain DF Raúl Albiol

21 Spain FW José Callejón
22 Argentina MF Ángel di María
TBA France MF Lassana Diarra
TBA Netherlands MF Royston Drenthe
TBA Turkey MF Nuri Şahin
TBA Turkey MF Hamit Altıntop

Mourinho lol! lol! lol!

Even if you take out Drenthe, Diarra, and Gago, that's a 22 man squad of purely senior players, not even any kids that would supplement it (apart from Adan).

In principal I agree but Callejon and Varane hardly count as seniors and Altinop is shite. I can see why Mou wants another striker though I agree he doesn't really need one. If one of Higuain/Benz gets injured early, it would be very hard to play in 3 competitions with only one striker. Methinks Llorente or Drogba would do nicely. <Ale>

Well what I mean is they're fully paid members of the first team squad. ie. they'll be training with the first team, on the bench for the first team, making subs for the first team, or starting for the first team. Won't be alternating with the B team and first team, like a 3rd goalkeeper might do, or like Bartra and Montoya will do at Barça. And anyway, an 18 year old costing 10m euros is about as good as it gets for the 4th CB position at any club. For example, nobody at Man. Utd. would call Phil Jones a "non-senior" player.

Varane maybe you give Mourinho but Callejon has been playing in primera for three full seasons now with Espanyol. He is definitely a senior player. Mourinho is off his head sometimes. Ok most of the times.

Obviously there is Mourinho's long standing wish for a third striker. Rolling Eyes

Beyond that the only thing I can think of is that there are a lot of rumours that Kaka will be sold after the tour of China Laughing But again it seems like we have Granero and Sahin who could play in Ozil's place if needed. Whatever. Mourinho is delusional. He is just giving himself excuses already for when we inevitably get pwned by you lot this year.

Hopefully that will put the club off. 55m for some Anorexic teenager who's unproven in European football.
Further more I was surprised by reports Mourinho is keen on him, not exactly the type of player you would associate with him. Or maybe Mourinho has got that injection they gave to Captain America Laughing

Update on the 'discarded' players:

Sergio Canales - Loan move to Valencia is official. Sad

Fernando Gago - Still in Argentina and apparently Boca has pre-registered him for the opening stage of the Argentine league. I think the biggest obstacle is that Boca don't have money to buy him outright.

Lass - Spurs are negotiating for the French midfielder but want him in loan and at the moment the club only want to sell. Seems like if a permanent deal is reached it will be for well short of the 20m that we are supposedly asking for.

Pedro Leon - Was supposed to be close to moving back to Getafe on loan. However it's come out that three English teams: Fulham, Aston Villa, and Everton are now bidding for his services. Of course this 'report' is from The Sun.

Madrid certainly want him out. The question is which club is stupid enough to pay his salary, let alone a transfer fee on top of it. Looks like Milan are going to meet the stupidity requirement.
