Awsome ball by Snjeider and finish by Forlan but its too late. 4-3 great game but Inter shocking at the back in the second half.

Juve 4-1 Parma
Milan 2-2 Lazio
Palermo 4-3 Inter
Cesena 1-3 Napoli

An exciting start to the season in Serie A and Napoli v Milan should be a cracker next week...oh and Inter v Roma.

Well, he was sacked from Genoa after they lost to Palermo....

Great result for Palermo, lost 6 regulars in the summer including Pastore and three Italy internationals, replace their coach on the eve of the season with a 'nobody' and shove four past last seasons second placed team.

Brilliant opening weekend for Serie A, some sublime goals and great football, Juve the big winners, Napoli were far from convincing but gained an important result.

I was considering switching off at HT but you should never do that when Miccoli is playing.

Brilliant 2nd half <Ale>

Speaking of getting the sack, how long until Luis Enrique is out at Roma?

A "who will get sacked first" playoff tonight between Gasperini and Luis Enrique.

Inter:
1 Julio Cesar;
6 Lucio, 25 Samuel, 23 Ranocchia;
55 Nagatomo, 4 Zanetti, 19 Cambiasso, 10 Sneijder, 20 Obi;
9 Forlan, 22 Milito

Inter bench: 12 Castellazzi, 42 Jonathan, 44 Bianchetti, 77 Muntari, 7 Pazzini, 28 Zarate, 30 Castaignos

Roma: 24 Stekelenburg;
11 Taddei, 44 Kjaer, 29 Burdisso, 20 Perrotta;
16 De Rossi, 7 Pizarro, 15 Pjanic;
31 Borini, 10 Totti, 9 Osvaldo

Roma bench: 1 Lobont, 5 Heinze, 14 Bojan, 19 Gago, 22 Borriello, 77 Cassetti, 87 Rosi

3-5-2 for Inter, which won't work against Roma's 4-3-3
Roma appear to be playing Taddei & Perrotta at full back which is bonkers.

3-4-3 vs. 4-3-3. Should be an interesting matchup.

Lucio-Samuel-Ranocchia will have a tough time against Roma's front 3, whereas Inter will have the edge in midfield. On paper, I make it as an initial advantage to them.

Edit: so it's actually a 3-5-2 for Inter. Hmm....that gives Roma the advantage, because their front 3 will pin back Inter's fullbacks.

Roma have Rosi, Heinze and Cassetti on their bench yet they play Perrotta and Taddei as their fullbacks scratch

Can't understand this referee! If he has taken the view that it was a foul then Lucio should have been sent off

Roma forced to make a change at GK after Lucio's trailing foot caught Stekelenburg in the head.

Roma managed to shut out some late Inter pressure to get a 0-0 draw.

Napoli vs. Milan is the evening game tomorrow. ok

FFS we're going into possibly the toughest away match of the season @ the San Paolo with a bunch of players injured.

Ibra, Robinho, Mexes, Flamini, Gattuso, Boateng, Ambrosini, Zambrotta, Inzaghi, Kingsley Boateng all out.

Taiwo is not fit to start games so it will be Bonera or Antonini going out against Napoli. Doh

I'd easily take a draw right now.

Antonini cheers Napoli may have a chance now Razz

Lavezzi is out, and Napoli rarely function well without him... Maybe Pandev will be reborn?

Krasic is not fully fit and would not last a full game. plus Pepe offers a better work rate defensively. Vidal has come on as an AM replacing Vucinic

Aquilani scores with an awesome header, only for Cavani to equalize.

1-1.

Very true from Paolo Bandini: If all 22 players stopped moving for the next 77 minutes, I think this game would probably still have been better than Inter-Roma

Superb goal from Napoli, helped by lazy defending from Van Bommel. Gargano just ran and ran and ran, before feeding Cavani, who absolutely smashed it in.

Edit: and now Aquilani is through but De Sanctis makes a great low save in the 1-on-1.

Good quality game this.

Good half for Aquilani. Pato has been shit.

Defending has been atrocious for Milan. Napoli's second goal was better than the one they scored against City.

Pathetic performance from Milan everywhere. Same problems in being overloaded in numbers and pace on the counter, still zero creativity or anything resembling a philosophy and dynamism in midfield and absolutely no personality or direction in attack.

The problems WERE NOT addressed in Summer, Nocerino, Taiwo, Aquilani ffs. van Bommel - nothing, Emanuelson - absolutely no point to this player he can run and that's it. Dreadful, Udinese, Napoli and Juventus will fight it out for the title surely, unless Allegri stops playing this fucking long-ball crap and dull, uninspiring directionless football then Milan will lose all the momentum of last campaign very quickly.
