The standard of refereeing and lines man in Spain is light years away from the football. I'm not a believer in conspiracies just the fact that the officials in Spain are so shit.

Valencia definitely on top here. Piatti and Soldado look really up for it.

I think he turned his back on the linesman when handballing the ball, plus it was very close to the box line. But still it was clear sent off.

Edit: I was wrong, linesman should spot it easily.

This is pretty dire stuff. No wonder the team fails to achieve anything away from home - no passing, no movement, no creativity with the ball. Just everybody running individually with it. Pinto should have been off too.

No I'm pretty sure that was in the linesman's side and what made it obvious that his body was on the other side of the ball so the only way it could stop would be with his hand. Very strange from the ref.

Valencia are so much more effective against Barcelona than we are with less quality.

Good combination in midfield releases Mathieu down the left who crosses to an unmarked Jonas who finishes first time. Ale

Well you see what a difference it makes when you try to keep the ball and actually go for it at home! Wink

It does beg the question though why are Valencia so sh!t against mediocre teams like Racing????

A Barca with no Xavi & Iniesta, and even that c**t Alves. I think not.

No Xavi, no win. Simple. It's him who gives Barca that ridiculous dominance of possession, those extra 10% that make the difference between an excellent team and an all time great / unbeatable team.

If Iniesta is missing, too, then shit really hits the fan.

Brilliant from Messi, but Alexis fucks it up. And thankfully Puyol scores from a corner. Come on, show us what you can really do now, you fuckers. No more wasting the ball.

Possession stats: 40 % - 60% -> healthy, something every team should (at least) aim for playing Barcelona. With Xavi, it probably would be 30% - 70%.

Well, it's a good game. Just a shame those bunch of contes leveled it up and that Pinto is still on the pitch.

I wasn't basing it on this game only. Valencia always seems to have a good gameplan against Barcelona although they are much easier against us. Very nice of them. Biggrin

I wish Unai Emery would teach his team how to defend set pieces ffs! No matter how good Valencia play against the big teams they rarely win, they need to get stronger mentally for the CL next year.

I think we also suffer from the fact that we are obviously thier main Rivals and there are not short of motivation and concentration against us. IMO this Barca team in the last 3/2 years could have easily had an unbeaten La Liga season had they shown the same attitude and concentration in every match.
We've also seen how Athletico Madrid seem to violate Barca time and time again.
