So Argentina is a banana republic now?

Deep down you know im right!

Peru good robbed, and im their Saul Goodman!

It's time that the CONBALL got more native American! Whitey is still the boss there, and they HATE it when native American countries qualify!
Peru owe their liberty to Argentina. A dodgy ref is a small price to pay for the great assistance provided by Jose de San Martin. Coincidentally they also Bolivia (Jose Antonio de Sucre), Venezuela and Colombia (Simon Bolivar) and Chile (Bernardo O'Higgins).

In short they should take their being robbed occasionally and like it!

And we all know your anti-Argentine bias is over 1978. Get over it; it was Brasil that was robbed, not you. The victims of Videla's tyranny were Argentinian - 30,000 disappeared or worse in the Dirty War and no Dutch. What a useless tin pot dictator he turned out to be. Wink

It was Brasil that was robbed by Peru's capitulation after Videla went and secured their help. If justice had prevailed you'd just have lost to Brasil instead and then they might not have played as attractive football in 1982. You had to lose for the greater good. Who is the daughter of the Videla regime and when was she crowned? Must have missed that. But you're right it is not nothing - it's less than nothing!

And don't think we've forgotten your export to Peru http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joran_van_der_Sloot  Such an uncivilised lot. Wink And you lot have form. I believe the Mayflower stopped off in the Netherlands to take your zealots to inflict on America. And what about the Dutch Reformed Church? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/despatches/africa/33032.stm A bit late there Fey!

looks like uruguay will probably be in the playoffs, but they are basically through. The 6 qualified teams are probably the 6 strongest sides in south america (excluding Peru of course). Argentina and Brazil will be favourite, but i imagine Colombia, Chile and Uruguay can cause some difficulties to other teams.

Why do Argentina not pick Tevez anymore?

Because he's a trouble stirring c**t. Plus, Argentinians are probably less tolerant when it comes facial aesthetics than the French.

Between Messi, Higuain, Aguero, Lavezzi, etc they don't really need Tevez. He should probably be picked ahead of Palacio but like Blut says, he may not be worth the trouble.

The ugly duck here is Ecuador. They qualified due to altitude, didn't win a single away game.
