8 goals for cesc very good, what a great central midfielder
What does Soldado have to do to get a chance DB

excepted more from malaga by this point of the season, but thier central defence is total shit and their forwards are good, but nothing more, toulalan has disappointed as well, more needs to be spent this January.

If I didn't look at the table and someone told be Osasuna were 5th, I would tell them they are lying.

VV, With the .50, but still no love, went a few games without conceding, it was down to the possession and defence, Neuer does it and he was making a world class save every 10 mintues.

Diego Simeone has apparently resigned as manager at Racing de Avellaneda which is fueling speculation that he will replace Manzano briefly.

Shocked

Would the sheikh even be allowed to own two teams that would be competing in the CL? It would be interesting if they do go after another Spanish club though.

Well, another manager's reign ends in farcical circumstances at Atletico - they've just been knocked out of the Copa by Albacete, who scored the winning goal within 20 seconds of the start. Manzano will probably be sacked tonight itself.

It's their 3rd loss in a row when we are expecting this to happen... yet it's Villarreal which did it first - Garrido is a history at El Madrigal...

A bit harsh on Garrido given the squad he had to start with and then all of the injuries. Michel's name is the first to surface as a possible replacement.

I wonder if Javier Aguirre will also be sacked after another crazy result (Alcorconazo!!!!) in Copa del Rey.

Yeah, a bit surprised that Garrido was sacked. Saw them lose but assumed he must have played a heavily rotated lineup (which would have been even weaker than usual due to first team injuries).

I hope they don't hire Michel though, can't see that being a success. Quique perhaps?

Aguirre's definitely next. But I don't think that will help Zaragoza anyway. That club is rotten at the core - in the control of agents and full of bizarre activities.

Villarreal have announced that José Francisco Molina, ex-Atletico/Deportivo goalkeeper and manager of the B team, will take over the reigns of the first team for the rest of the season. This is really bizarre. I thought they would have gone for someone with experience but I guess they are hoping that Molina is literally the new Garrido.

Manzano has officially been sacked as well and a formal offer has been expended to Simeone.

Evidently Simeone is counting on Reyes and so they pulled the plug on the transfer to Sevilla. Will be interesting to see if Atletico end up making any moves this January now that Simeone is in charge.

Anyhow, Happy Christmas to everyone! santa

Interesting graphic from Superdeporte outlining the projected signings for Valencia 2012/13. Guardado, as we have all heard the rumours, is going to be announced 2 Jan. The negotiations for van der Wiel are apparently close to final. From there the priorities are centre back, defensive midfielder, right winger, and centre forward. Emery thinks Pablo and Feghouli are too similar in their characteristics and wants someone a little pacier and with more dribbling. Not sure about centre forward, unless they lose Soldado or sell Aduriz because with Paco Alcacer who is apparently going to be promoted to the first team they will have 4 already. They are happy with Ruiz and Rami but Ricardo Costa is gone and so to, probably, is Dealbert so they need at least one replacement. Seen one rumour linking them with Iñigo Martinez. Botia would be another good option.

That's what I said LOL and hopefully they will keep Soldado but get a better back up striker.Reyes wouldn't have been a bad option for the left side to rotate with Matteiu when they need a little more guile to penetrate good defences like Chelseas Double Decker Bus.

Na no way I like Pablo, he's a good player, especially on the counter attack and he scores goals but when facing a team who sit deep and try and counter attack themselves I just think they need a player who can beat a man by dribbling and create chances.I don't know why they sold Joquin.Matheiu looked like a very limited player against Chelsea,I think Reyes would have been a good option although I have never really seen Guardado play.

Fair enough! Ale

Mathieu is quite limited. The thing with Guardado is that I'm not sure he is really an improvement over Piatti or Benat but I guess he is free so.
