The first penalty called on Alves was bullshit. It was at least equivalent to the foul on Alexis that wasn't called a penalty. Refs sub-consciously think that Barça don't need soft penalties, even if it was a foul, especially at home. And they don't want some bald fatty criticising them the next day in Marca.

For me the first penalty for Granada was legitimate. It was extremely clumsy from Alves and he makes contact with the Granada player 2 or 3 times before he eventually goes down. Now, Borja Gomez on Alexis was also a penalty and I think you lot can feel like that was a legitimate call that went against you. AS was claiming there could have been a penalty against VV on Borja Gomez in the second half but in that play, for me, there is nothing. Valdes does clatter into him but the ball was already into touch practically and there was no way Borja Gomez would reach it. I don't think Alves can have any complaints on the second either, his arms are too far away from his body.

Yes, if the refs are going to call penalties for clumsy coming-togethers in the box, then Barça should have had around 50 of them this season. It's the old cliche about wanting consistency, but I realise that's too much to ask for from La Liga referees.

It's too much to ask for from referees all around the world. Penalty calls and red cards (especially with two bookings) are the situations where referees are very inconsistent, it counts for the same referee calling games on weekly basis, as well for various referees calling games the same weekend in the same league.

The RFEF and the refs aside, the La Liga run in looks very interesting. I've looked with great interest the remaining fixtures for both teams.

We know the RFEF will continue to have a hand in the decision to gift the title to Real Madrid (the assholes of Los Castellanos have been hurting for far too long seeing their nemesis Barça winning everything in the 21st century!), but here's where it will get dramatic.

If you look at their schedules, Barça can see daylight while Real Madrid's is full of 'landmines'. Barça shall crank it to sixth gear and sprint to the finish line in CL and La Liga. For Real Madrid to hang on to their lead they must win two of their road games from Villarreal, Osasuna, Atlético and Bilbao.

Stumble against Villarreal and the heat is on. Whoop

I just dont get it what the fuck was wrong with the RM players. What was all that crying about? Probably Special Five effect when you dont get what you want. Instead of playing they simply refused to play and moan about the decisions.
If anything, i liked the RED for the Five.

Madrid are cracking up!

Suddenly it doesn't look impossible.

Madrid haven't been that great away from home the last few months and finally the results are starting to show it,you can't rely on scraping a 1 goal lead forever.

this is what happens when you dont get the rub of the green from the refs, don't think their is a big conspiracy, but even the most die hearted real fan, will admit that have gotten a lot of calls going their was this season.

The refs in la liga are just shit.

6 points doesn't look impossible now, but real will still win it.

The end of the match at El Madrigal unleashed global feelings. Not even the final whistle calm down some Real Madrid players. Paradas Romero wrote in the record sheet that Pepe was sent of once inside the tunnel to the changing room because he told him: "What a robbery, son of the b***h."

Got a red in the tunnel for that

If only they were playing a better team at the weekend

Valencia lost at home to 10 man Zaragoza Doh Doh

----------------

But anyway, great night for Barça. The only thing more enjoyable than Madrid suffering a bad result, is watching their reaction to it.

I'm not claiming Barça's players/staff have covered themselves in glory (Pique and various members of the board have made some poorly judged comments), but what we saw from Madrid is on a different planet altogether. They make Barça's complaints look completely polite.

Ramos' outrageous foul, fully deserving a 2nd yellow

Ronaldo: "Sólo robar, sólo robar, robar"

Pepe: "Vaya atraco, hijo de puta"

And of course, the leader of the gang, Mourinho himself:

A team of disgraceful c**ts in the image of their manager.

Señorío? This lot probably don't even know the spelling of it, let alone its meaning Ale

----------------

Credit to Marca and AS though. For once, they write the truth about the events and criticise Madrid for their poor form, not just the refs. Even Marca's ref expert says the red cards for Ozil and Ramos were justified, and that Villarreal should even have had a penalty for Arbeloa's shirt pulling on Nilmar.
