    Modern footballers run 10-11k almost every 3 days. Don't think many other sports match that.

    I do not think so. Hockey players do not play for 90 minutes they average 2 minutes at a time maximum with 20 players if they play 20 minutes a game thats lots. With Tennis there is resting times.

    Gaelic Football or Aussie football may come closer.

    Tennis players sprint a lot more than football players and due to the stop start nature of the game it puts more stress on the heart than football.

    Sprinting is only one part of Football there is many more different movements in Soccer than Tennis this adds more added stress to a non shop activity.

    How would different movements put more stress on your heart as opposed to sprinting in Tennis? That sounds like absolute bollocks that you just made up.

    Impact injury makes sense also add this to running around under highly stressful activity that would cause a greater change of keeling over and dying.

    In construction work you smack yourself up often by chilling out for a few moments your less likely to have the same outcome of a player has in a intense football game. Physical Stress and the ability to cope with it can be measured.

    Absolute horse shit like I said,where's your proof that apart from the most rare and statistically uncommon injury's,that impact injury's cause people to have a heart attack?

    Have never heard such bollocks in my life.Playing tennis for over 5 hours where you sprint for 30 seconds then stop,then sprint then stop and so on is much more demanding on your heart than playing football which is played at a lower intensity for 90 minutes.

    Not saying this is what actually happened you wanker. Your saying their is no high activity stress involved I am saying this could play a big factor in these Deaths you cocking sucking ras hole batty clot lol!

    It's like arguing with a retard Laughing He doesn't even know what he's arguing about.

    Brain said and I quote "Impact injury makes sense also add this to running around under highly stressful activity that would cause a greater change of keeling over and dying."

    I asked him for proof that impact injury's cause heart attacks in football but he ignored this then changed his argument to high activity stress which basically mean running or any other type of cardio.

    Brian is essentially agreeing with me but is too thick to realize.

    Such a shame I miss my Juventus fix thanks to this. It happened in the Serie B! Why cancel all Serie A games?

    Pierre Littbarski wrote:Foe, Muamba, Jarque, Puerta, Feher, Morosini.

    Jarque ruins my theory because he is a CB.

    Ie GK, CB and wingers will get it less than Forwards,, Fullbacks and CM's who should do the most running.

    Couple of spaniards, couple of africans and a couple of europeans - no South Americans, are they fitter ?

    I always thought we Northerners were stronger as well, but it happens here as well. Yesterday a kid of 14 got a heartattack on a footballpitch and today a 14-year old died during the marathon. Presuming they are Dutch though.

    Its a mark of respect. Like Prandelli said (and he loses a vital NT practice get together because if this), it would have been too weird to see goals celebrations this weekend after seeing what happened at Pescara.

    It was the right thing to do.

    RIP Morosini.

    Read that Di Natale has taken in Morosini's handicapped sister because she has no other family? Pretty great of him.

    I don't think so - I think just said (as captain) that Udinese as a club, and their players, would take over her support.

    Kanu as well. O'Donnell wasnt so lucky.

    So that's One african and one Northern European. A former Japanese Intl. CB (Matsuda, who played at WC 2002) also died from a cardiac arrest last August. There was a Brazilian called Serginho (not the ex-Milan one) who passed in 2004 whils playing for São Caetano.

    Thanks for that, Jaime. That brought back memories, so many memories....

    You can almost imagine the typical commentary in the background... "Baggio... still Baggio... STILL Baggio... STILL BAGGIO!!! BAGGIOOOOO!!! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!" - that is about as eloquent as any commentator could get when Baggio made one of his runs...

    What a player. I have been waiting to see a better Italian player come up in my lifetime, but its "still Baggio" for me....

    Sneijder & Maicon are back, and if they are fit enough to start, I am hoping for the following, slightly ambitious line up:

    Milito
    Zarate - Sneijder - Alvarez
    Cambiasso - Stankovic
    Zanetti - Chivu - Lucio - Maicon
    Cesar

    Zanetti should be shifted to LB, even though as a RB he has been better than Maicon this season. I would love to see Inter play with 3 creative players behind Milito, IMO that could really work.

    Jovetic may not be fit to start for Fiorentina, thats a relief. They are a different proposition with him playing.

    The squad at Florence:
    Goalkeepers: 1 Julio Cesar, 12 Luca Castellazzi, 21 Paolo Orlandoni;
    Defenders: 4 Javier Zanetti, 6 Lucio, 13 Maicon, 23 Andrea Ranocchia, 26 Cristian Chivu, 37 Davide Faraoni, 40 Juan Jesus, 55 Yuto Nagatomo;
    Midfielders: 5 Dejan Stankovic, 10 Wesley Sneijder, 11 Ricardo Alvarez, 14 Fredy Guarin, 18 Andrea Poli, 19 Esteban Cambiasso, 20 Joel Obi;
    Forwards: 7 Giampaolo Pazzini, 9 Diego Forlan, 22 Diego Milito, 28 Mauro Zarate.
