Played Wigan ok They are surely staying up now. 12pts from Liverpool, Stoke, Chelsea, Man Utd and Arsenal, making a mockery of their tough fixtures. Will need another win, but their run-in is good as long as they don't relax too much now.

    What a brilliantly professional performance.

Good football at times (amazing composure under pressure from Alcaraz on a couple of occasions) but none of this smug "playing the game the right way" or "sticking to our principles" win or lose - they were there to get a job done.

Diame's decision to shoot on 94 mins rather than hold the ball up could of undone it all, teh margins are that fine.

What did I tell you Coops!! I BELIEVED Ale

Shame that Spurs are so utter guff atm that we can't take advantage of this. Perhaps we can still stumble into 3rd as Arsenal still have to play Chelsea, and Chelsea have to play Newcastle.

Stupid, stupid goals to concede, stupid stupid points dropped. Grr Grr Grr but the biggest disappointment was that we ultimately failed to make up for our initial mistakes despite having the best part of the match to play. Losing Arteta so soon after going 2 behind was a blow; Ramsey a poor replacement, with another clueless performance. Lose against Chelsea and we can still blow 3rd place. Grr Grr Grr

Disgusting performance from us. You never know where we might end up with this team. It could be anywhere from 3rd-5th.

No one would say it coz they are fighting for relegation and all that but Wigan were an utter disgrace; they started wasting time 15 mins into the 1st half, very similar to what they did in 2006, I remember Kirkland even pauzing for a drink during goalkicks Laughing

Pathetic performance from Arsenal. Only Rosicky and Vermaelen came out of that game with any credit. Watch us beat Chelsea on Saturday now Rolling Eyes

Song, Ramsey and Walcott in particular were horrendous.

It's not often you see Sagna given the runaround but Moses
tore him a new one Ale

Martinez's tactics were awesome though and his team played very well. Fully deserved, no complaints ok

We were the cause of our downfall. After they went two up Wigan did exacly what I expected them to do for the restof the match and I knew we'd lose. Grr

I don't even blame the defence. There was absolutely no protection. I don't mind out midfield rotating but nobody is going to pick up their dangermen then what's the point. I'm warming to the idea of M'Vila/DM now. Even if it means we sacrifice a creative player, it's necessary. Song and Ramsey just let people run off them with ease, reminded me of the days of Denilson Rolling Eyes

I thought their time-wasting was getting a bit bad in the first half, but by the end they didn't really need to do it that much. We offered so little threat for them; it was very comfortable.

More than anything it was the complete lack of application that frustrated me. After conceding a goal from a breakaway from our corner (yet again) they had the same situation in the second half and most of our players were just jogging back. No one had the tenacity or drive that the Wigan players were showing.

If we had capitalised on our pressure around the half hour mark then maybe we'd have sustained it for the whole match, but the second half was very disjointed. No cohesion, no energy, no movement. Our players were just running into blind alleys with the ball because there was so little support for them. Hopefully Arteta won't be out for long. We really don't want to be starting Ramsey in his current form.

Nah I'm sorry but Moses absolutely raped our defence, it's like he was parting the Red Sea all over again.

They are tiresome. They are poor for 90% of the season and then turn up just to do enough to stay in PL.

At least they finally took some points of United this season but I still hate them,Wigan is a rugby town that's why they hardly have any fans.

Damn, Wigan truly are the cockroaches of the Premier League. Hang around all season, then hit form at the right time and just about stay up despite most predicting they'll go down.

Good performance though. Amazing to think they have beaten Man. Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal...and should have won or at least drawn against Chelsea as well if the refs didn't rob them.

Can't quite believe how Wigan have gone on this run, they looked truly down and out a few weeks ago, Wolves style, and looking at their team I couldn't see how they were going to get out of it but their performance last night was probably the finest battling display I've seen for a long time; Wigan looked like they could have played another 90 minutes and still wouldn't have conceded again. Excellent stuff.

Wolves, Bolton and Villa to go down please Very Happy

Wigan haven't been playing that badly all season, a bit like Blackburn they have played some nice football but their defending has let them down. A bit like those mums who lifted a 1 ton car off a kid, the reality of relegation can motivate some teams to superhuman proportions.
