Absolutely bizarre this incident with Bielsa. Apparently he tried to resign but it wasn't accepted and for now he is still the manager of Athletic.

Awful news. In a summer which should have been their crowning moment to date, it looks like it's all crashing down already.

And now AS is reporting that all 4 players have retired their formal complaints against the club. Apparently they are owed wages for the months of June and the current month of July but there has been agreement worked out for a schedule for the payment of the outstanding wages.

Still though Villarreal have not dropped their claim that Malaga have not complied with the payment schedule for Cazorla so the sheikhs not out of the hot water yet.

There fixed it for you. No charge. As we're in a generous mood we won't enforce the provisions of the Curse of Valencia for failing to return Albiol to us, even though you deserve it - yet! Twisted Evil

Deportivo - Osasuna 2-0
Rayo - Granada 1-0
Zaragoza - Valladolid 0-1
Levante - Atlético 1-1
Barcelona - R. Sociedad 5-1
R. Madrid - Valencia 1-1
Athletic - Betis 3-5
Celta - Málaga 0-1
Sevilla - Getafe 2-1
Mallorca - Espanyol 2-1

Jornada 1 results. Nice to see Depor back with a win. That Nelson Oliveira looks like he is going to be a handy (loan) signing for Deportivo. I'd read that Celta-Malaga was a good game. Not sure if anyone else saw the goal from 16 year old Fabrice Olinga. The Cameroon striker came over from Mallorca a couple of years ago and played with the B team last year. Now he's the youngest goal scorer in the history of la liga. Crazy match between Athletic and Betis. Athletic still missing Llorente and Martinez while they try to resolve their futures. Betis were up 0-3 before Athletic came back to make it 3-3 and the Betis decided the match with two more goals in the last 10 minutes. Soooooooo glad football is back! Ale
