I'm really sweating playing England.

Definitely don't want to lose against them. It would be awful.

Nobody can rationalize betrayel like Otto(read post from above about Greece,Italy,Spain although to be honest it would be cool if Germany beats 3/4 of the PIIGS Biggrin ) Fey is a bit more righteous in his shift considering he was already down on Holland pretty early on. Bernd is simply a victim of the stockholm syndrom. He has been figthing the Germans on here as a good Englishman should do and now he has completely gone to the other team. Yikes I have a feeling Kimbo would never do that even with an all 11 London man based national team. Surrender to the Germans Question Or maybe it is simply so hard to imagine England Germany getting along that we assume it must something wrong with Bernd.

I feel pity for Bernd. Just imagine if this became the miracle tournament where England went all the way. He'd be forever tainted by his betrayal before the glory. It's one thing to shift your support after your side has gone out of the competition, but to brazenly attempt to jump into bed with the enemy while your team is still standing No No No

It would make SO much sense!

I wouldn't mind that all even though I like Italy a lot because I would like to see England do a Chelsea in this one. And if they go through they will likely meet Germany and it will be a chance to get revenge after the ghost goal. drunken

England vs Germany

What would Bernd do Question

Has he been thoroughly Germanified or is there is still some sprinkles of the 3 Lions in him?

On the other hand Italy vs Germany is always a good game but there is no hostility there and when it comes to football I prefer personal beefs and bitterness to simply good matches.

Progress always beats football

Italy always beats Germany when it matters!

I have to say, Spain vs Portugal and England vs Germany would be a great set of semi finals.

My pal, you last beat us when Steven Spielberg had a pubescent face and Jaws had just released.

Agreed, you could cause us problems. But we love beating you on our way to major tournaments. Very Happy

But if were Spain and not France against you, I'd support you lot <Ale> .

That is true.

But if we lose to Spain, it'd be because of incompetence of Blanc (so much for him throwing away the Sweden game and losing all confidence) and incompetence of players. Not in-fighting. Ale

No excuses and conspiracy theories from me, I'll give you that.

Blanc should be seen as a choice by Spurs for what he did for Bordeaux and not for what he did at France. For Bordeaux, he was in deed excellent.

I still use Spell check. Razz

German was the 1st foreign language I learnt at School, I've been to Hamburg and Berlin (twice) in the past year and it helps on the odd occassion that you find a German-only speaker.

I have family who were born and raised in Paris so I decided after I went to see them when I was 15 to learn French (My Dad & UK based cousins are fluent) as a couple of times I got lost and nobody could help me "en anglais". France is like the UK - pretty lazy when it comes to learning other languages! Portuguese I learnt in advance of going to Porto in 2010 (only to discover most people speak English anyway Doh) BUT I want to go to Brasil someday so it became my new hobby.

You learnt Portugese because you were going on holiday to Porto? That's some commitment I thought holidays were meant to be about relaxing. Not learning a language which would take years just to help you for a few weeks. Laughing

I learnt phrases and directions etc. but decided to carry on. You can learn a sister language in 2 years (since all the 5 I can communicate in some form in are romanic) if you work at it. A cyrillic language, japanese or Mandarin or Arabic would take lots longer for obvious reasons.
