It's the striker position that seems the weakest link.

Could Portgual do a Chelsea-Real hybrid over Spain? Progress Ale

Yup...and today, the key will be whether these 3 can adapt themselves to stay disciplined and concentrated for 90 mins (or more). They basically have to ensure they can sit deep, close spaces between themselves and the defensive line, and fight to win the ball...and once they do win it, they *must* quickly release it - maximum 2 touches - with an accurate long diagonal pass to Ronaldo or Nani.

Also, wtf is a 'Chelsea-Real' hybrid? Laughing

Portugal are more like Madrid than Chelsea, who showed pretty much zero attacking intent. Portugal have not exactly been all out attack, but have always looked to maintain control and not over-commit...but then when they go forward, they do so explosively. If they try to temper their style by being more close to Chelsea, they will suffer and Spain will find a way through.

You 'progress' bandwagoners need to stop tweaking your agenda to fit every winning team into it. Let me guess, if Germany win Euro 2012, their style will also be spun to fit the 'progress' criteria Erm

Or maybe you can just come out and admit honestly that it's not really 'progress' that you favour, but 'anti-Barça/Spain'.
The word progress is progressive as well, it continually adapts. Biggrin

Portugal is a progressive side for me and Germany is more nuanced because they do a little of everything when needed. Italy is special for me so I don't care what they play. Spain is of course an abomination. They will never on team progress as long as they stand as a symbol of attacking exciting football. They are used as the counterpol to defensive football so they have to die. This is why any side but Spain is great.
So for me it is Portugal/Italy for the win.

Apparently UEFA won't allow a minute's silence for Miki Roque before today's game, nor a black armband for Spain's players.

Yet there was a minute's silence before France-Sweden for Platini's mate Thierry Roland Rolling Eyes

Anyway, I expect the Spanish players, particularly Busquets, to have Iniesta-for-Jarque-in-2010-style shirts to show if they score/win.

Platini is a c**t. Thierry Roland was just a fucking commentator. Busquets won't score, so hopefully someone good will have a t-shirt to show. The question is will they still do it if they are on a yellow?

Progress <Ale>

I don't know about this "progressive" bandwagon, but I am for different styles and winning football. I don't like the "you should play our way" bullshit, and people banging on about possession when the aim of the game is to score goals.

I would also be happy with a Portugal-Italy final, although it would be weird cheering on cronaldo against anyone. Portugal-Italy final, in the style of Puro, you heard it hear first (even though Super Progress has said it clearly on the page before I did), mes amis, easy ca$h and and all that bullshit. And of course I will never mention it again if it doesn't happen.

If Ibra had scored Welbeck's goal I am sure we'd be hearing cries of genius for the improvisation. As it is Ibra's goal was very good technique, while being under no pressure from any defender in a game that didn't matter. How can they be compared.

They claim that the Spanish federation 'never asked them'. The Spanish federation claim that they 'asked verbally, were told no, so didn't bother putting in a formal request'.
