I reckon if Italy make it, they will win against Spain, who really don't feel comfortable against Italy, both historically and in this tournament as well. Plus it would classic Italy to sleepwalk their way through a tournament, not really being that impressive, but somehow winning.

On the other hand, Germany are arguably the best side in the tournament on paper, but I think a game with them and Spain will be 50-50.

I thought there was no way that Spain would keep winning, due to fatigue and the greater hunger of the others, but their quality just seems to be immense. Plus they have little things going their way in this tournament - non-penalty calls against Croatia, winning on penalties (with Cesc's shot going in off the post), Ronaldo reverting to Denmark mode, France getting their tactics all wrong, etc.

Depends hugely on what Del Bosque does tactically. Negredo surely won't start again, so it's back to Torres vs. Cesc. Though I wonder if Del Bosque will show some boldness after seeing just how brilliant Spain were in extra time with both Pedro and Navas on.

I'd play a front 3 of Torres/Pedro-Cesc-Iniesta, with Cesc as the false 9 and Torres or Pedro working the right/centre-right channel where Boateng operates.

Well well, this tournament is surely Italy's. Just barely get out of the group, not too impressive in the tournament but improving gradually, and a penalty shootout win thrown in as well. Spain won't like this at all...Italy will be out to complete what they couldn't finish in the 1st game.

Interesting final, I think spain will take a few lessons from the first game and italy will have to come with something different.

While Del bosque, will certainly need to start one of Navas/Pedro/Torres, just to give the team that vertical movement in the final 3rd.

Will Italy stll consider a 3-5-2 or is that option ruled out because of their injuries?

I think they will stay play the 3-5-2, they have to flood the midfield to match spain, the 4-3-1-2, will give the advantage to spain from the start, so they will be starting the game on the back foot

The group game was great. I think this is 50 - 50.4 of the best midfielder of the last 50 years on the same pitch and two other world class ones in Alonso and De Rossi.

Dis gon' be gud.

xavi has been playing injured all season and its really showing now at the euros he should be resting now and not playing, he was played in the same position at the world cup and was boss, but is body is breaking down, if he can tough it out for this one game,he could be the difference.

Spain had all the same difficulties in the WC. Think it'll be down to Torres or Fabregas to make the difference like in 2008 and 2010..

Pirlo is doing a Zidane. Everything Italy do well goes through him.

Forget Xavi or Iniesta, he is the best player in Europe currently.

I have a suggestion for television broadcasters who are showing the final.

Because the Spanish national anthem, The Marcha Real, has no words. The tv companies could play Rihanna's 'Birthday Cake' without any continuity problems.

Then afterward when Ballotelli and Fabregas are telling the stadium that it's ok to be queer, the tv translator could just read an advert and charge companies to have their product endoursed by a player right before kickoff.

Very Happy
Even a 34 year old Zidane, with his right foot tied to his head, asked to play on his left foot, would not be subbed. (Of 128, more than 40 goals in Left foot alone, nearly equal to Iniesta's total career goals tally) cheers
