Not really

Varane at 17 played many games(23) at the league level for Lens in the first division. Which is slightly higher than the whopping 1 game Jese has played. Jese has shined at the U-19 level for Spain. Good for him but lets test him for a full season now and see what he is made of and then he should get bought back if he is worth it. Either way with Higuain in there as well Mourinho can hardly give him the amount of games he needs at this time.

Interesting. Just read in Super Deporte that Valencia are not willing to pay more than 10m for Bruno and Villarreal want 12m. Their plan b is Gago...8m offer. Whistle

gago and benega would be crap together, bruno is 28 a club in valencia's current position shouldn't be spending that kind of money on a player of his age, capoue would be a good alternative

True! But maybe there is a Kaka-Zlatan bromance that even surpasses that of Zlatan-Gerard. Laughing

Soooooooooooo Question
It was the first division and he played many games for the first team. No matter how you spin that that is more than the 1 game Jese has played. Also he was 17 at the time! The hype was much more justified for Varane than Jese. The fact that they got relegated was probably a great learning experience in terms of the pressure surrounding the team at the time. Hardly think that counts against him

The french league is about the equivalent of segunda B so not really any difference. If his name was Varánez you'd disregard him just like you do Jese. Ale

While driving on the freeway today, I could have sworn I saw Drenthe. He was sitting on his haunches, next to a car with its hazards on. He looked distressed and was on his cellphone.

It looked exactly like Drenthe. It was crazy.

*So Mourinho has said Sahin is more or less out. He will definitely be loaned out and I'm guesing he probably won't play for us again until he increases his reputation abroad or when Mourinho leaves.

*Mourinho also said that it was hard to bring Portugese players in Madrid because the media judges them harder than others(read: the spaniards). Finally somebody speaks truthfully about this. Bravo to Mourinho for being brave and right...Again <Ale>

Sahin, what a joke! lol!

Mourinho has only been giving him time as left back in training!!!! wave

Apparently Florentino and Galliani will meet in a week in NY to discuss the transfer of Kaka. Everyone is saying that we won't loan him, only a permanent sale but I think that is all posturing.

Lass has come out and said he refuses to play right back. I have a feeling though he is going to stand his ground and refuse a transfer so he can leave for free next summer. F*cking mercenary.

Carvalho still in Madrid training with Castilla. Have no idea where he is going to end up but no offers at the moment.

Marca reporting that if we don't signg Modric the alternative is Moussa F*cking Dembele ffs. Doh That had better be some media BS otherwise i will lose it!!!!!

Not sure if anyone caught the friendly against LA Galaxy yesterday. Finish 1-5 to Real Madrid. Decent run out. Opposition was not terribly strong but some nice details. Alonso and Di Maria were the standout performers in the first half. Very sharp considering it is this early in the preseason. Higuain had a lovely goal in the first minute. He is looking happy and confident so that is a good sign. Kaka and Lass looked like they would fit in well in MLS. Rolling Eyes Poor marking from Nacho on the goal for Los Angeles. A bit ridiculous that he goes with the 1st team every preseason when a real talent like Carvajal is discarded but oh well. Jose changed the whole team at half time (see below). Morata gave a really nice performance. Cool finish after a great through pass from Granero. Worked really hard out on the right wing as well. Interesting to see he has been given #23. AS said that he was going to be registered with the first team so maybe he is going to get a chance. Also, Varane played wearing the #2 which surely indicates that Carvalho is on the way out. Jese given a cameo towards the end. Really made the most of it. Created some danger down the wing and ended up grabbing a goal too after some great buildup from Benzema, Khedira, and Ozil. He will definitely play in Castilla this year but I hope that Jose keeps him in mind.

Joselu signs for Hoffenheim for 6m euro; don't feel so bad about him leaving since we really just stole him from Celta Vigo a couple of years ago. A shame he couldn't go to a la liga team instead opting for a mediocre bundesliga outfit.

Any more news on Modric? As much as I like the guy I don't think keeping him for a second season of no CL football is in our best interest. He is clearly unsettled and this will only effect his form.Hopefully you stump up the cash soon so we have adequate time to find a replacement.

At least he will still be playing in white, from one Los Blancos to another. <Ale>

<Ale>

I think it's just posturing right now. Mourinho came out yesterday saying that there is no better CM in the world than Khedira Rolling Eyes and Marca has been saying that we are now looking at Dembele and Witsel. I think Modric is the only target but I also don't think Florentino wants to pay upwards of 40m. I think the max we are willing to pay is 35m. If we sell Sahin for a decent price or if we somehow manage to offload Kaka, then I think it changes and we would be in for 40m. But that would require Man Utd or Arsenal or Milan to step up.
