Bayern look vulnerable tonight. That Maxim lad looks like a quality talent, as he has all season.

Neuer saves Bayern's arse with a world class save.

Bundesliga teams are the only ones that have really challenged Bayern this season. Hats off to Stuttgart. Ale

Bayern could have gotten a penalty for a foul on Robben.

Penalty for Bayern. Traore fouled Lahm. The foul on Robben earlier was the more clear penalty to be honest.

Müller scores. Excellent pen.

Stuttgart players passed off because they didn't get a pen for that Boateng hand ball. Lucky Bayern.

Definitely. Very very difficult for Pep to even equalise this record. To be truly successful, he needs to continue winning, especially in Europe, and build a dynasty. That's the benchmark.

Provided Schalke can keep their players. But unlike Dortmund, they stay away from buyout clauses, at least for most of their players that is. I read that Draxler has a €45m buyout clause. In these days of inflated transfers due to the likes of Monaco, PSG, City and Chelsea, that's not that much though.

Dortmund has learned there lesson, there bosses already said "no buyout clauses" anymore

and thats the right way, as cl finalist, 2x german champion, there standing in europe is back where it belongs, they just need to pay higher salarys Wink

Yeah but how do you avoid buyout clauses. Players want them so they can leave if a bigger club comes in and wants to pay them more money. So in order to negotiate removing them you have to pay them more, or give them shorter contracts. They may not be willing to sign a 5-year contract for example, but would accept a 4-year, knowing that after 3 years they can renegotiate (for a higher salary) or the club risks losing them on a free the following year.

If the player (or more likely their agent) insists on a buyout clause, then it should be so high that it would be considered "crazy". 45 million for draxler sounds like "crazy money" to me, with gotze only costing 37 million.
