Firesale at Anzhi and a warning to all those financially doped 'billionaire plaything' club fans how things will end once their owners lose interest / go mental / are broke

Meltdown at Anzhi: Eto'o, Willian and Denisov head football's biggest firesale

The Dagestan outfit have been rocked by the news their owner, having sacked Rene Meulensteen 16 days into the job, will slash costs and likely sell a host of star players

I already reported that a week ago. Bit misleading for them to say firseale, then say the club wants a fair price and it's not actually going bankrupt, the owner just wants to run it more prudently. The problem is that it will difficult for anyone to match the wages, let alone agree with antzi's valuation of them.

If they had collapsed and gone bankrupt, that would have been a warning. What it says to chelsea or city fans is: enjoy challenging for the title and the CL while you can, because one day you might go back to mid-table and only have the millions from the TV money to rely on like everyone else. It's not much of a warning, more like good advice.

AVB walks into yet another big job at Zenit.  Laughing  This guy should be at WBA or something, by the time he retires he's going to have a hell of a record.
