Homegrown topteam.

Post by Fey on Tue Aug 28, 2012 6:40 pm

With El Hamdaoui moving to Florentina, I realised he also played for us. I wondered what our best homegrown team would look like. Only currently active players of course.

For Feyenoord:

----------------Mulder--------------
Janmaat-----de Vrij-----Martins Indi-------Bastos--
------------Fer---------Clasie
El Hamdaoui--De Guzman---------Kalou
----------------van Persie-----------------------

Bench:
Wijnaldum
Engelaar
Bruins
Castaignos
Rekik
Bruma
And of course Drenthe.

Christ what a load of c**ts

Anyway, I think it's a more then decent team. Now show me yours.

-------------------Casillas

Arbeloa-----M. Torres-----C. Navas-----F. Luis

------------J. Garcia----Granero

Callejon---------B. Valero------------Mata

------------------Negredo

Bench: Diego Lopez, Mejia, Juanfran, Jurado, Parejo, Rodrigo, Soldado

Pretty sh!t defence...had to move Miguel Torres into the middle and cheat by adding in Filipe Luis (I think he was only in Castilla one season). Good thing Casillas would save our asses.

who does Nicky Butt play for now? Gary Neville has retied surely. Newcastle's right-back is from the Manchester United youth system, or you can have John O'Shea or Wes Brown.

Would Gibshoooooooooooot or Feltcher not be a better contender than Butt?

Yeah only currently active players and players that went through the club ranks for at least 3 years below 18. So now way Inter can claim Pirlo.

I will do one for yiddos.

-------Sneijder-----------------VDV-------

scratch 'homegrown'?

I don't remember Destro even playing a single game for Inter, Pirlo is Brescia's, Martins was grown at Reggiana, Pandev didn't even play for Inter until 2010, Frey was already known and scouted at Cannes. In Pandev/Bolzoni/Bonucci's example, they might have been Inter youth players for a while, but their professional development was done elsewhere - Pandev and Bonucci played 1 game between them for Inter up to 2010.

Difficult for Italy's bigger clubs to have true 'homegrown' because they send all their players on loan, and they develop their football elsewhere, only if they're 'good enough' in their mid-20s does the club take them back!

So you would rather play Arbeloa out of position at left-back, instead of choosing the legend that is Raul Bravo? Surprised
