gomez

its pretty easy to score for a. madrid, gomez has always to handle parking the bus teams

while falcoa has always more space, a. madrid is a counter side

gomez utterly dominated madrid (and in the entire season madrid were the only team with balls against us)

not in this game, they had more possession, look at every goal from falcao, there was a high defensive line from chelsea

Heard some say it's a bad deal for Atletico. LMAO. Told them it's the best deal they've done. Got the best striker/finisher in the world in place of 3rd best all-round Forward in Aguero..

how can both be the best, not until they show something in the CL

falcoa would be useless for chelsea, i bet roman doesn`t realize this, he spend 100 millions in the wrong area, he tries to play attacking football, for this he needs world class midfielders, there is not a single one in the chelsea squad

Best finisher in the world.

Whether he's the best all round striker in the world is another matter. Although there is a lack of outstanding candidates at the moment.

Feel Benzema should be the best, but he just isn't.

you mean 4?

of course he is very good, and he would fit in almost any top club BUT he is not a level above other strikers, and surely not the best in the world

he plays for a "small" counter attacking team, he is this what

benzemas was for lyon
gomez for stuttgart
villa for valencia
cavani for neapel

was, and look what happened to them at top clubs, villa and benzema still struggling, and gomez had a bad first year, he had to change his game, because for bayern you hardly get chances on counter, because every team parks the bus

its easier to score for "smaller" clubs, to score for top clubs in the same manner, thats a real quality prove

and chelsea is an average side in playing footy, this was not a below average performance from chelsea, thats there standard game for europe, they won`t become better, they should play this what they can do best, park the bus, at least in europe

Best finisher.

Cavani the best CF.

How odd that probably the best two strikers around play for Atletico Madrid & Napoli.

I prefer him over Cavani. But Kroos might have a point, that they both need to show their skills at a topclub.

It is humiliating that Atletico always seem to have better strikers then Real. Torres/Forlan/Aguero/Falcao, we have Benzema Erm

the role villa plays for barca is much different than he played valencia. but I agree that is easier to score a good lets say tier 2 team than the best teams in the world. said as much in the eto'o vs vila debate a few years back. but falcao is better than gomes

I remember saying to friends that I wasn't convinced by him at Porto Embarassed

Didn't think he was quick enough or skillfull enough to warrant such a fee.

Has been brilliant though.

A bit similar to Vagner Love the way his goals are so evenly distributed between either foot and head - more clinical than VL but less adept at link up play.

I thought two of his left foot goals in the Europa League were amazing but Friday was something else.

Do you think there has ever been a right footed player before who has a scored a hat-trick all with left foot Question

Holy shit Mes Amis. O well as long as Chelsea don't get him. cheers

€60 million though. Shocked I must say I don't think even Falcao is worth that much. If Atletico reinvest a good chunk of that back in the team then it could be good business. I guess it is already good business as they are selling at a profit and have acquired 2 years service of the best striker in the world, who has helped win them two trophies and qualify for the CL for the first time in years.

Reportedly Falcao will get €10 million a season. Monaco has a low tax rate as well. Not to mention Monaco is one of the best places to live in Europe as well...if you're rich that is.

If Monaco continue to invest this king of money then Ligue 1 might be competitive in the coming years after all.

Monaco's owner Dmitry Rybolovlev has a net worth of $9.5 billion. I have just been reading up a little on the tax system in Monaco and if I am not mistaken non French individuals are not taxed at all. So the fact wages are tax free means Monaco will be able to spend less money on wages than the likes of Chelsea and City yet the players will get more.

So he goes from Porto to A.Madrid to Monaco..that's like taking a step down every time. Usually players do the opposite.

In a way, its also understandable. They are the focal point of attacks at their respective clubs. Kroos has a point there, its more difficult in a bigger club, which has stars as great or greater in attack already, and you are no longer the focal point of all attacks. I am not saying that is the only factor, but it is one of the key reasons of failure of players like Kaka at Real, Villa at Barca, etc. I am pretty sure that if Falcao goes to Barca, for example, he will not be half as successful.
