Instead he's opted to just make money in an average league. It's his choice but it's the mercenary choice and the choice of someone who doesn't truly love football.
Well, just to say, but if he pushed to get sold to the other side of Madrid that would've cast a worse light on his football passion and values...

We are looking back at those two players with high sight you know the thing that euro board posters specialize in, and with that how can you put adriano a player I loved and kaka a overrated pace merchant whose has only ever won one medal of note in his entire career with. Ronald, rivaldo and ronaaldinho.

If neymar comes to barca and all he does is run very fast in a straight line and help us win one champions league title, that would have been money wasted.

Simply put you can't.

Ok I take back what I said before about it being a good deal on Barca's behalf in terms of the amount paid. Now I'm reading it wasn't 35M but 60M!
This automatically obligates them to use him big time even if he falls through.

Dortmund fans booed Götze when the team arrived back home, and later on in the stadium every time his picture was shown on the screen, called him 'traitor' and what not. Lewandowski wasn't booed because it hasn't been clear yet if and where he moves. It's still not official yet, even if his agent has gone public.

That is where I saw that it was 60M. I thought it was a surprisingly good deal when I heard it was 35M but while I knew there was some clauses added to it that would push it a bit I didn't think it would be this big.

So he is saying 60m, them goes on to list a number of payments related to the transfer fee, that is way more than 60m.

Santos held 100% of his registration. In the end, Barcelona reportedly agreed to pay Santos and those partners around €28m, plus a further €30m to the player and close to €9m in agents' fees. A down payment of €10m had already been made in January 2011

Neymar da Silva (father): "Chelsea made highest bid, but not only money counts. There's climate, playing style... His heart said Barça."

So what Sid would have us believe is that Chelsea big more than 60m euros for a player with one more year on his contract.

Or is it more likely that they bid more than 35m, probably 40-45m.

Sure not on the level of those 3, ultimately overhyped and with a vertical cliff at some point of his career (the latter is a trait shared by with Dinho anyway), still he's worthy of being lumped in the "attacking players that Brazil can't produce now" - the kind that can produce pretty darn effective football when they're fit.

messiah wrote:If neymar comes to barca and all he does is run very fast in a straight line and help us win one champions league title, that would have been money wasted.
What Kakà did, he came in for cheap, at 20, relatively unknown, to the side that was going to the best in Europe for 2-3 seasons, and he did need just the preseason to convince Ancelotti to switch to the christmas tree to make room for him in the start 11, often sacrificing a player like Rui Costa for him, and he was a major force for their scudetto against though opposition.

And it wasn't his fault that the CL was one only ;+)

Not saying they should be bunched with the likes of pato and robinho, they were way better than both, but neither should they be bunched with the 3Rs who all achieved greatest through what they did for clubs and country.

I also don't really care if x player feel over a verticle cliff, because none of them, (the 3rs) had particularly long careers, ronaldo played for a long time at a high level but had like 3-5 seasons that made him great because of injury and just him being a Brazilian.

Dinho had just 3_4 great years, back to back, and the was done, rivaldo kind of the same.

None had particularly long and successful career, the way a giggs or pirol has for example.

Kaka wanted/wants to do it, but he was all pace, and his done, but Carlo will revive him at Madrid I hope.;-)

It's ok because Dortmund definitely try and keep their best players and are well run and stuff - the fans own them <Ale>

English doesn't seem to be your strong suit (your autocorrect makes more sense than you), so let me highlight the important part of the sentence in the report:
The fee has not been revealed, nor a contract signed but Neymar will join the Catalan club in the next few days in a deal understood to be worth close to €60m

If your main problem is that the numbers don't add up to exactly 60m, just look at the words "close to" and you'll realise that 67m is pretty close to 60m Wink

Perez trying to high jack the lewa deal, would be a much cheaper proposition than cavani.

Hope they get neither and higs leave, Benz is a pretty good striker though

Now I knew since the copa debate when you could see that 4 teams being able to win the copa, which has 12 teams is basically the same has 6 being able to win the euros, so I will forgive your lack of mathematical abilities, if you can't do ratios you can't add either.

28+30+10+9= 77m

Now even if it was 67 million that is not close to 60 million, no one forgets 7 million, Especially when they just listed exactly according to you how the deal was broken down.

Just admit you struggle with basic math.

PS even if your 67 was right, that's actually closer to 70m and not 60.

So the fact that he says close to 60m is again wrong.

67 million is closer to 60 million than 35 million Wink

where is your source for saying 35million and then sticking to it like it's a fact?

The actual conversation, that obviously messiah didn't understand, was completely correct that with only 12 teams starting, the chances of getting into the quarter finals is a lot easier (could finish 3rd in group) than starting with 16 teams as in europe, and then once in the quarters you only need to win 3 games to win the lot.

Lies!

It was about more teams being able to win the euros thus it was more difficult, you then tried to move to the above point.
