*Whew. The final cost of Illarramendi is 38m euro. All paid in one lump sum. Real Madrid wanted to pay the buyout 30m but have la Real pay the IVA but in the end la Real have played hardball and RM is paying the whole thing. Additionally, RM wanted to pay the transfer fee in two payments but again la Real have insisted and will get it all at once. Of course this is way too much for Illarra but it's what the market has become, largely in part, thanks to clubs like Real Madrid ourselves.

*Oriol Romeu to Valencia is official. No option to buy along with this one year loan.

*Real Sociedad have bought 21 year old swiss striker Haris Seferovic from Fiorentina for 3m. Would be interested to know what Serie A fans think of him. By the look of it he hasn't played much top flight football.

*Promoted Almeria sign another one of la masia's diamonds full of Barsa DNA - the might Rodri! cheers

*Demichelis has signed for Atletico. Gives them three very experienced centre backs and they still have the young Pulido. Almost surely this means that Cata Diaz will leave in one way or another.

*Betis have made two loan signings: Juan Carlos (ex-RM Castilla) is prolonging his one year loan from last year from Braga in Portugal, he will stay on another year. Plus Betis have signed goalkeeper Guillermo Sara on loan from Atletico Rafaela in argentina.

*Rafinha going back to Celta Vigo. One year loan but this guy is finished in Barcelona. ok

*Rayo want to bring back Jordi Figueras who left a couple of season to go to Belgium of all places. He came back on loan last January and they are hoping to make the move permanent.

Why are we paying 8M extra for him?

And I don't get why people keep saying that this is the market. The market price is set by the seller AND the buyer. It goes both ways and there is downward flexibility as well as upward flexibility. If Real Madrid want him that bad then sure they will have pay up but if there is nobody else willing to pay that, and I don't think there is, then it is hard to argue why we should. Fiorentina is demanding 30M for Jovetic for crying out loud!

We should give up and find somebody else because Real Sociedad don't want to sell and might qualify for Cl, which means good money, and Illarra doesn't want to go so... Let's go somebody else who is much cheaper and more suited to us. Then next year we can pay around the same amount for a player who might want to leave although his price might go up if he performs well.

Cesc cost 35M!

Done deal. Just been a press conference in Zubieta. Oh and Illarra does want to go, he said Real Madrid was impossible to resist. Ale

The extra 8m is the IVA tax.

Julio Cesar (QPR) possibly on the way to Villarreal! That would be a great signing for the Yellow Submarine. He can still play, Julio Cesar, and he will have a lot of experience to offer.

Suso has gone on loan to Almeria. Be interested to see how he does in Primera next year. Ale

It's a sad day when a youngster like Campaña prefers to go play for Crystal Palace than stay at his lifelong club Sevilla. Doh

Hope he gets good game time. He definitely has something about him but the Premier League can be a cruel lesson for young foreign players trying to develop. La Liga should suit him more.

*Sevilla have signed Reading defender Daniel Carriço.

*Del Nido also seems to be cooling the rumours that Negredo will go to City. He said that "the best replacement for Negredo, is Negredo". So there...

*Raul Albiol to Napoli, AS reporting a fee of 10m euro.

*Atletico could be signing Etienne Capoue after missing out on Jeremy Toulalan. Boy that would really rile the Arsenal fans up. Laughing

*Tottenham are trying to steal Alvaro Vadillo away from Betis. Grr

*Villarreal are in for Albert Riera who's spent a few years in Greece and Turkey. Would be an experienced player at least as the reemerge in Primera.

*Real Sociedad are signing Jonathan Dos Santos as the replacement for Illarra.

*I will die laughing if United sign Cesc. Rosell is dumb enough to do it though. Maybe they will bring back Marc Crosas, he was supposed to be awesome!

*Not news from Primera but Juan Carlos Valeron has signed with Las Palmas on a one year deal. #legend

Alvaro Vadillo. He's been mentioned a lot in the transfer rumours over here.

Must admit I know very little about him - Jaime / Super Mo etc. can one of you good fellows tell me if this kid is decent, and if so what the likelihood of a move to Spurs is (eg if he's already been labeled a superstar in the making in Spain and being eyed up by Madrid/Barca, probably unlikely)

He was a big big deal a couple of years ago, made his senior debut for Betis when he was just 16. Everyone was touting him as a left sided Joaquin. He had a big knee injury though after a collision with Sergio Ramos of all people. Missed almost a whole year. Made it back this past season. Didn't play a whole lot though I don't think. He came on as a sub against Madrid but that might be the only time I saw him play this year.

He's a proper winger. Can actually play on either side. Skillful, plenty of tricks and everything. Still a bit light weight for the Premiership I would have thought and his end product really needs to improve. Overall he is pretty unproven but he is still only 18. I hope he stays at Betis because he will just end up in the Spurs reserve team at this point.

If Spurs really want him and make a good offer, Betis would probably sell him. I don't know what his buyout clause is but it's probably not more than 10m if I were to guess.

Ok thanks. Yes, he may become the new Iago Falque, or Gio Dos Santos...

That said, he's being touted as the 'new Gareth Bale', and if / when Bale gets sold I'm sure that - assuming he's better than Andros Townsend - he'll get chances to play in the first team....

I think Townsend is further along in his development. Maybe long term Vadillo has more pure talent but Townsend is the more likely to make a difference this season or next. At least from what I saw of him in QPR this year.

*Interesting rumour - Santi Cazorla is not happy in England and wants to return to Spain. Club he is being linked with - Atletico. Of course Atletico have been looking for an attacking midfielder for ages and have mostly been linked with Diego Ribas from Wolfsburg but Cazorla would certainly fit the bill. Cerezo has, so far, denied it but there are a lot of sources that are claiming there is something to this. Will be very interesting to see what happens with this.

*Real Sociedad being linked with Didier Digard as a possible replacement for Illarra. Have also been linked with Jonathan Dos Santos. Two very different players but maybe la Real would sign both. Digard, JDS, Ruben Pardo, Markel, and Zurutuza would be pretty decent.

*Celta Vigo are planning 3-4 signings yet this summer. Priority seems to be a left back after losing Roberto Lago to Getafe. Canella from Sporting seems to be the main target. Luis Enrique also wants a centre midfielder but that position could be filled by Borja Fernandez from the B team. They also want a goalkeeper and are hoping that Javi Varas will return after being on loan from Sevilla last year. They are no also looking into signing a centre back after they have lost Samuel for the next six months due to a serious knee injury.

*Julio Cesar was a target for Villarreal but now it looks like the brasilian goalkeeper will be going to Napoli so Villarreal will have to look elsewhere. Dani Aranzubia from relegated Deportivo is one name that has been mentioned and also Andres Fernandez, Osasuna's excellent goalkeeper.

*Barcelona have gotten a big fat 'no' from PSG on Thiago Silva and now it looks like PSG might be rubbing salt in the wound by snapping up their other target Marquinhos. So Pito and Zubi are now thinking of Adil Rami from Valencia. He's a pretty decent CB but very injury prone the last couple of years. Sounds like Valencia would gladly sell him to make an extra 10m euro.

*In other Valencia news, Nelson Valdez has left the club to go Al-Jazira. Looks like the club is going to give Paco Alcacer a chance rather than buy a new striker.

*Sevilla looking for a right back. Coke Andujar has not reproduced his form from Rayo and the fake Cicinho is a bit shit. They were looking at this Diogo Figueiras from Pacos Ferreira but apparently they are asking for way too much.

*Sounds like Guilherme Siqueira is on his way to Everton (which probably means Baines is leaving for Man utd). £4m is the price being rumoured.

*Recio and Juanmi have returned to Malaga after loan spells in Granada and Racing respectively. Kind of expected big things from those two kids. But with all of the arab money some bigger name players were brought in and they didn't really get a chance but now that it's all fading away at Malaga Schuster is going to have to rely on the kids because there is no money for signings.

Paris St Germain's president will attempt to sign Lionel Messi from Barcelona for €250million if the Catalans choose to meet Thiago Silva's buy-out clause this summer.

"If Barca pay the buy-out clause of Thiago Silva then I will meet Messi's buy-out clause,"

It is in the real world. But in a world where Cavani goes for 64m, Falcao goes for 60m, Neymar goes for 57m, and Andy Carroll goes for 40m I don't think it is outside of the market.

Really? For the money you would have been much better off going for Negredo. Soldado still doesn't strike me as a '9' for teams with CL ambitions.

You know better than me I guess. I'm just going on what I've seen and his goal scoring record. You don't think he'd be a good signing leading the line in a 4-3-3? Negredo is gone, we would never have been able to match Man City's bid or wages. If not Soldado, realistically who else in La Liga is there?

Surprisingly I actually think Jaime is being a little hard on a Spanish(and Real Madrid product at that Shocked ) player. For me Soldado is good enough for a team with Cl ambitions but probably not good enough for a team that wants to win the Cl.

The problem with Soldado is he scores a hattrick against Osasuna or Rayo but I never remember him scoring against Real Madrid or Barcelona. Maybe I'm wrong. Negredo is a much better footballer overall. Soldado is really just a finisher in the box.

I like both but if I had to choose one for Real Madrid for example I would prefer Negredo but that is also for tactical reasons.
