wtf?

Inter have apparently agreed a deal to pay Parma 10m + loan of Cassano + loan of Silvestre for half of Belfodil.

If true, either Moratti has gone completely bonkers or has a seriously bad case of cough Razz

[quote="
Jovetic must fix Fiorentina relationship'

Football agent Eugenio Ascari believes that the bitter climate between the Viola and Juventus made the move unlikely and hopes that he makes peace with his current club Stevan Jovetic must mend his relationship with current club Fiorentina as a move to Juventus looks increasingly impossible this summer, according to prominent football agent Eugenio Ascari. Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente have swelled the attacking Bianconeri ranks ahead of the 2013-14 campaign, adding to a strikeforce that already has the likes of Mirko Vucinic, Alessandro Matri, Sebastian Giovinco and Fabio Quagliarella. Following confirmation from Juve chief Giuseppe Marotta on Tuesday that the deal is dead, Jovetic is now expected to remain a Viola player heading into the new Serie A season and Ascari hopes that his manouevres to try to force a summer move can be put into the past. "The climate between Fiorentina and Juventus is already not one of the most serene after they tried signing [Dimitar] Berbatov from each other," he told Lady Radio on Wednesday, referencing last summer's failed attempts to lure the striker from Manchester United by both Italian clubs. "The Bianconeri also have treated only through the player's agent [Fali] Ramadani [and not with the club]. "I believe that what said Marotta yesterday afternoon was untimely. But because of this I see too many obstacles at this time to see Jovetic join Juve, so now I were him I would try to fix his relationship with Fiorentina." The Montenegro striker, 23, currently has a contract with the Florence club until 2016. "][/quote]
Where will he go?

I would have liked to see Jovetic at Juventus behind Llorente/Tevez. Milan should consider if they can find room for Jovetic but given their current system I'm not sure. SES already has the position as either second striker or left winger and Balo is a sure bet as CF although if they do sell SES and get Jovetic they might be better off given that SES-Balo doesn't work all that well. Jovetic-Balo makes more sense and given the SES hype I'm sure they could get at least 22M for him and since Fiorentina want around 30M it isn't too bad.

I know Arsenal aren't likely to splash another big amount on a player but having Carzola-Jovetic-Higuain suddenly makes them much more dangerous but I don't see it happening. Spurs could do with him as a Bale replacement although I expect Bale to leave next year at which case it will probably be too late. Other than those clubs I can't see what clubs could realistically buy him that need him.

Cavani moves closer to PSG as they are willing to pay the clause.

What a clown Cavani will look like if he goes to PSG. All throughout he wanted to play for a big club, and he is going to sign for the nouveau riche instead. He may as well stay at Napoli. They were reportedly willing to give him a bigger contract.

What will be interesting is how Napoli spend this money because they will spend most if not all of it...

Really?

PSG is already a very good team that did quite well against Barcelona. I can't see how Napoli is at that level or able to sustain if they reached that level. PSG is in a good situation domestically whereas I have hard time seeing Napoli winning the title ahead of Juve and Milan next season. I would love him at Real Madrid but apparently we aren't willing to pay for a super striker.

But he kept saying that he wanted to play for a big club, and mentioned Real Madrid.

PSG are a rich club, but not a big one, and it doesn't seem players are sold on their project because the league isn't that hot. T. Silva would leave in a heartbeat if he was allowed to, for example.

I disagree, mate. There is nothing wrong in choosing PSG over Napoli. PSG have more money, and are more likely to go further in the CL. I have nothing against the nouveau riche, money is money.

IMO if Napoli get 63m for Cavani, its a great deal for them.

I wouldn't be so sure - we've got rid of six players thus far, releasing about 300k in wages. Another 3/4 are expected to go. We 're still in the market for a marquee DM (Bender) and an AM (Jovetic) so I wouldn't rule it out. Check the Arsenal thread for what our team could look like at the start of the season.

I think Napoli's project is serious, and they have an owner who is boosting their brand. PSG are not established yet, even if they had a decent season last year, and they play in a mediocre league notwithstanding Monaco's ascent. Cavani talked about playing for a big club, and then he chooses one that just got rich. It reflects poorly on him.

Like Ciro Ferrara said, Real or even Chelsea would have made more sense.

I hope Napoli go much further than PSG in Europe. Hopefully ADL will buy wisely.

I disagree, mate. There is nothing wrong in choosing PSG over Napoli. PSG have more money, and are more likely to go further in the CL. I have nothing against the nouveau riche, money is money.

IMO if Napoli get 63m for Cavani, its a great deal for them.

Ask yourself these questions

Is Cavani more likely to win league titles for PSG than for Napoli?

Is Cavani more likely to win the Champions league for PSG than for Napoli?

Don't forget that Napoli's president has made sure that only the highest bidder gets a chance with Cavani. Cavani so far has not been willing to push hard to get a move to Chelsea, City or Real Madrid. I respect that though I think he was stupid to put himself in a position like this where the president has all the power. He shouldn't have extended his contract for so long or made sure the clause was more to his liking. I'm not sure what you want Cavani to do this situation. Force his way out of a club he apparently respects too much?

League titles--yes. But what is the value of a league title given the competition in France?

CL? I don't know. PSG have a ways to go yet. Bayern, Real, Barcelona, and Juve are comfortably better than they are. I don't think the difference between Napoli and PSG is that overwhelmingly vast.

I agree Cavani was stupid to put himself in that position. That's his doing. But if he really wants to play for a big club, and the clause-activating offer is not forthcoming, he can go to ADL and say he wants to stay. PSG is not an amazing career move for Cavani imo. Maybe in 5 years PSG will be a highly coveted destination, but they aren't considered the hilt. And given Cavani's age and ability, he is ready for a big, prestigious club now.

This saga ain't over yet. If Cavani wants to go to real or chelsea, he can still turn down the PSG offer even if they pay over 63m. Break clause only means that it is out of the club's hands to refuse the offer, the player can still refuse the offer.

If I were Cavani, I would hold out for a club like Real Madrid. But if he chooses PSG over Napoli, there is nothing wrong in that - there could be perfectly valid reasons for him to make that choice.

Yes, but he is out of our price range unfortunately. Inter have already concluded their striker signings with Icardi & Belfodil. We are going for youngsters with potential on low wages who are still very much unproven. Even if one of them is a success, it would still be worth it.

Inter's senior team moves so far (expected ones in blue):

IN
Campagnaro
Andreolli
Icardi
Belfodil
Botta
Laxalt
Isla
Nainggolan
Dragovic

Out (wages)
Stankovic (5.4m)
Rocchi (2m)
Gargano (3m)
Cassano (5.4m)
Chivu (4.2m)
Schelotto (1.5m)
Jonathan (2.4m)
Silvestre (3m)

If we add the wage reductions of Samuel, Zanetti, Cambiasso (exp) & Milito (exp), Inter will probably cut their wage bill by about 35m! And when the 4 argies retire next season, the wage bill will go down by another 20m. The wages of new arrivals this summer should be about 20m.

This is clever stuff by Inter, financially speaking. Not sure how good the team will be next season, there is a lot of potential, but will it translate to success on the pitch? I guess the aim of the below squad will be to qualify for CL:

Starting XI:
Icardi - Palacio
Guarin
Nagatomo - Kovacic - Nainggolan* - Isla*
Juan - Dragovic* - Campagnaro
Handanovic
Subs:
Milito - Belfodil/Laxalt
Botta/Alvarez
Pereira - Kuzmanovic/Obi - Cambiasso/Mudi - Jonathan
Andreolli - Samuel - Ranocchia
Carrizzo/Castellazzi
*Nainggolan, Dragovic and Isla are yet to be signed.
