Greatest Goal Scorers in Europe

Post by bluenine on Mon May 13, 2013 4:27 pm

Interesting list from goal.com of players with best goal scoring records over the last 4 seasons among Europe's top leagues:

161 - Lionel Messi
145 - Cristiano Ronaldo
102 - Antonio Di Natale
92 - Radamel Falcao
89 - Edinson Cavani
85 - Zlatan Ibrahimovic
82 - Robin van Persie
80 - Luis Suarez
76 - Wayne Rooney
75 - Mario Gomez
71 - Robert Lewandowski
66 - Sergio Aguero

Di Natale, one of the most under rated strikers around... 5th player in Serie A history to score 20+ goals in 4 consecutive seasons! <Ale>

Look at Zlatan's record, then take into account that over the last four years he has been much more of a playmaker(on top of being a goalscorer) than everybody on that list apart from Messi. He challenges Ronaldo for the title of being the 2nd best player on that list. I am not sure who is more effective but I know sure as hell who I would rather watch out of the two.

That's a fatuous argument. No doubt you wouldn't say that if they where German.

Hasn't Rooney won more CL's than Klose, Ballack, Podolski, Kroos, Schweinsteiger, Muller, & Ozil all put together? Razz

At least it will be true for a few more days... Smile

they all have horrible records in the cl, in my opinion a gomez striker type will always be the most important to win big trophys

Zlatan and Rooney haven't got a horrible record in the CL.

But apart from the above I am not going to waste my time arguing with you. All German players are the best. Gomez is better than Zlatan, Rooney and Van Persie. You win. <Ale>

Limited player who has been replaced by the more dynamic and versatile Manzukic. Also he has a tendency to bottle chances in important CL games.
