UEFA Congress

Post by EMP on Fri May 24, 2013 12:42 pm

Platini has addressed it and praised England for giving the world football. Among the matters discussed so far is FFP and the change to CL qualification from 2015. Europa League winners will be admitted to Champion's League from 2015. Resolution to combat racism has been passed. Gibraltar has just been admitted as the 54th member of UEFA. Geoff Thompson is about to be made honorary member of UEFA.

oooh, is it too late for me to move to Gibraltar and claim citizenship. With only 30,000 people they can't have that many players.

Exactly, this is ridiculous decision. At best they should have associate or honorary membership.

Up until the past few years, San Marino had under 30k population, they had 23k people when they joined UEFA.

San Marino has an amateur league as its top competition. Gibraltar has the same with just 6 teams in it. Surely the quality of the league should be an issue. If Gibraltar had applied now, they would not have been accepted.

I suppose Jersey, Guernesy, Alderney & Sark will be next.

Sark would be ridiculous, they don't even allow cars there.
