Swansea Ale

Judging on that performance, the equal 3rd best team in Spain. Love the Spanish Handkerchiefs.

Decent so far, Holtby has been very erratic despite getting 2 assists. Lamela not match fit yet. Worrying that Rose went off, hope it's minor.

F*cking hell Valencia. Doh

In years gone by Michu would be playing for a team like Valencia. Swansea played more Spanish players ffs.

Lamela with the first assist my amigo. Holtby with the 2nd.

I think it's clear after tonight that Holtby AND Eriksen >> Coutinho.

Thanks Tromso Ale

It's very sad. Very.

I really hope Spanish football gains some sort of financial viability outside the top 2.

It's sad what's happened to Valencia.

Anyway, not as sad as what's happening to ALL LIVERPOOL FANS' reputations though as that kid from Denmark they so luckily dodged a bullet with scores a beauty after being only for only 20 odd minutes.

It's settled then. Better than Messi Ale

FT Spurs 3 Tromso 0. Who wants some coefficient candy??! cheers

On the downside, Kaboul Rose and Dembele all off early with injuries. Let's hope nothing too serious, although I think our squad is big enough these days to survive.

Swansea played 1 British player, but for some reason they get away with it in our press, they're too busy attacking north east clubs for playing foreigners. scratch

just when you thought Swansea were going to take all the headlines with their win away at Valencia, along come Tottenham with a shock win at home to Tromso, against all odds.

Good job they sold Caulker and signed that Chinrapist guy. Kaboul and Rose off injured and the Romanian can't get a work visa.

I am no longer responsible for Liverpool's transfer policy.

I said this at the time, it was weird to sell Caulker who was such an able deputy, and to send BAE out on loan making your first choice centre back your 2nd choice left back

And while we're at it, EVERY week you predict Kaboul in your Spuuuuuuuurs XI and every week it's Dawson. I dropped Dawson from my fantasy team because of you and he's been one of the best points/value defenders Grr

Dawson keeps proving me wrong, and so does Kaboul's apparent recovery from injury.

Selling Caulker was weird, however given we've conceded just 1 goal in 7 games now this season it's quite hard to get massively arsed about it yet.

Why?

We must! pirat

Bayern - Juve aside and even Italy Germany aside at the international level... Lazio overcame Borussia M and Stuttgart last year, and Napoli beat one of last year's finalists in Borussia Dortmund.

But yes, in coefficients there is a huge, huge, almost insurmountable gap.  But one year at a time.  It should be interesting: Italy have really good teams this year in Europe, while I can see Bayer Leverkusen, for example, struggle.

One thing that is almost always enviable is the stadia.  Did you see the atmosphere at the Frankfurt game? Wow!

Don't forget also that your points are still divided by the team that was already eliminated:
http://kassiesa.home.xs4all.nl/bert/uefa/data/method4/ccoef2014.html

So it is basically like 4 wins and 3 losses, not such a good week ...

gladbach and stuttgart struggled  the whole season, while lazio was in fight for cl places

also i don`t think that juve is on bayern or dortmunds level, this is my ranking when all teams play there potential:

1. bayern
2. dortmund
3. juve
4. napoli
5. schalke

i think leverkusen has good chances to progress into the next round

Juve is not on Bayern's level--though with a new coach in Guardiola they aren't the settled, indestructible force they were last season.

I think Juve are on Dortmund's level, however. Conte has to tweak a few things this season, but I think they're a semi-final team.

Yes, Borussia M and Stuttgart struggled, but the point is that Lazio played two German teams and beat them with relative ease. This is what Germany offered for the EL, and this is what Lazio beat.

the problem is, our EL teams are all selling clubs (gladbach lost reus, dante and neustädter)

it`s the same with freiburg in this EL season

Bayern is on the right track, they humiliated schalke 4:0 with barca football, but yeah of course juve is a team to fear, on there day they can beat any side, i hope they show it against real madrid

Yes, it counts for all. I was just pointing out that the week was not so good for Germany as you thought. Every team that is out counts as a loss in terms of the overall coefficients, especially at this stage (in later stages of the competitions it is expected that your weaker teams would go out)
