Are they still oligarch c**ts when the oligarch is withdrawing funding? Typical nasty Germans.

FT 2-0 to Spurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs.

Took the foot off the pedal second half and coasted through in the end. Unsurprising given a second successive London derby on Sunday against the fascists of the East End. Comfortable trip to Russia, only Kaboul with injury concern. The Holtby / Defoe combination is looking very useful given it's very much a plan B currently. Chadli looked decent. Lamela was somewhat off the pace, but I think he is going to take the longest to settle given his age and total lack of familiarity with Northern European culture and language. AVB clearly blooding him into the team carefully.

Frankfurt Ale Professional and surprisingly mature European campaign so far, knowing that they really lack experience after such a long time without European football. Their group isn't exactly easy either, which makes it just more impressive.

Could have been the perfect week if Freiburg hadn't shot themselves in the foot again in typical fashion. They're a lost case, they already have their hands full surviving in the league after losing so many players this summer. They can still make it and advance to the next round, but I won't get my hopes up.

I'm not that surprised... yeah, Frankfurt lack experience, but Armin Veh is an elite coach with a winner's pedigree, and the Frankfurt team is very solid all things considered. And their opposition so far is very tepid...

What's really surprising is Bordeaux in that group... thought they'd be better.

Freiburg is tanking, as expected... they did, however, put up a good fight defensively until Fallou was sent off.

Let's give some love to Wigan.

Not even in the top division of English football and are unbeaten in their two first games.

Tonight they scored their first EVER goal in Europe. And it weren't bad either - 19 yr old Nick Powell on loan from Man United scored this:

Was listening to some Wigan fans on late night Talksport (:bluch: Mike Graham to be fair and not Adrian Wanknut, and he's actually pretty decent) and the clear unadulterated joy and excitement some of these guys were conveying at finally having the opportunity to go follow Wigan in Europe was kind of heart warming. One guy said he'd been supporting them for over 50 years and never dreamed they'd get into Europe, had retired early just to spend his time and pension on a Euro trip to watch them play. In the age of the impatient FIFA playing armchair fan who is utterly spoilt beyond his wildest dreams, that is real football and real football fans I tell thee Ale

I think you will find that I developed this neologism.

As usual it is the BRITS, not the Germans, who are the innovators...

But you're right, too much time (and thought) wasted on here.

Who's up for some Europa Action?

the best tournament in history has kicked off tonight as usual on a Thursday.

And, as EVERYONE knows, Thursday is Spursday.

Line up tonight shows the depth thanks to Gareth Bale's enormous transfer fee:

Lloris

Naughton--Chiriches--Vertonghen--Fryers

-------Dembele---Sandro

Lamela----Eriksen----Lennon

----------Defoe----------------

1-0 so far, Jan Vertonghen. FROM A CORNER!!! First goal from a corner since Dinosaurs walked the earth, and Germany was a nice friendly place void of war mongering.

2 nil to the Tottenham!

Defoe scores another crucial goal as Spurs continue their quest to dominate Europe.

Only Liverpool in the next round realistically stand in their way.

Might even try toget tickets for a Frankfurt match, now that I live nearby. Will try my best to be a passionate event fan jocolor
*packs his pyro stuff*

Hope they can reach quarters or semi, would be great. But with the CL dropouts it's certainly difficult

5 years ranking do quiet crush the joy of having teams like Freiburg in international games a bit. Not that the Breisgauers can do much about it, when they lose their key players every year
