It's official: Germany won't win the WC

Post by mongrel hawk on Fri Oct 18, 2013 2:19 am

Germany are the first national team to be out of the WC. It would be fair from the betting agencies to cut them off of the betting list, cause some naive football fan may put money on them.

Pelé said Germany are favourites: http://www.estadao.com.br/noticias/esportes,para-pele-alemanha-vem-forte-para-copa-do-mundo,1086535,0.htm

Yeah I read that earlier today. The Germans are in trouble for sure! lol!

A quick study of the counter-attacking and plucky Teutons shows that they along with Switzerland are the most overrated team in the world, and here's why:

Paraguay -the worst team in South America- who managed to have the second worst attack and the worst defense ran circles around the German defense in their own house! Friendly or not, everyone in South America witnessed that Germany is ready to receive a can of whoop ass and no team will fear -respect them yes but no fear at all!- the counter-attacking/pussy football experts and their atrocious "D". EVEN the Argies will have seen that to throttle them c**ts, you must minimize their counter attacks!

Germany piled up the numbers in Europe by playing shitty teams! They only had one game in their group (Sweden) and the Swedes -world beaters they are not!- also showed all the cracks in that overrated German team!

Italia or France, the USA and Algeria will look forward to be drawn in Germany's group! <Ale>

Oh how about FIFA insulting the world by making Switzerland and Belgium top seeds. SHITE! their utterly flawed and euro centric ranking is a fucking disgrace!

Belgium won't be happy to see Japan and Chile in their group. Get the fuck out of there you too overrated euro shite! Ale

The real world top seeds: Brasil, Argentina, España, Colombia, Uruguay, Italia, Germany, Netherlands.

You're very welcome, blut! Do not fall prey to the English hyping your team because right now Germany are SHITE! Never the less, there is time to fix the team.

By now surely they know they can't defend for shite and thus they will return to the shit on the stick football, everybody behind the ball and try to counter the shite out of the Argies. Problem is that even the Argies know that song by now. Shocked

How do you feel about having Italia, USA, and Algeria in your group?

The way Germany are playing now, I can see you losing to all three teams. Algeria look you in the eye and punch you back just like Paraguay; the USA believe it is time to hand you your ass on a silver platter, and we all know about Italia. Tough group for you me thinks. <Ale>

España are scheduling to play against Perú next May right before the WC. They say they want to "play against a quick and highly technical team" to prepare properly for the onslaught of technique in the WC. They won't be as lucky to avoid Brasil and Argentina this time because I don't think you'll beat the Argies ever again (get used to that idea) and the Dutchies can't have another ref on their side against Brasil in Brasil, can they!

Puro, you're right actually, but for all the wrong reasons. And you draw the wrong conclusions.

The last thing Germany should be afraid of is the South American shite that is being hyped over the moon in the last few months just because the WC is in South America. There is Brazil, there is Argentina and Uruguay by some distance, and there is the rest. Brazil are favourites, Argentina are a challenge (nothing more, nothing less), Uruguay hot and cold, the rest is cannon fodder. Even without a defence, Germany would walk all over them in a competitive match.

This said, I actually like your group. I'd actually prefer to have Italy in our group and I wouldn't mind USA and Algeria.

Having Löw on the bench may give the opposition a 50% advantage, but if the team clicks despite him doing his best to fuck things up, you'll be in for the all devouring, all destroying machine you love to hate, that winning machine of your early days when your hatred for those Germans grew, when they struck fear in the heart of the opposition before the ball was even kicked off. Last season, Heynckes' Bayern gave you a first taste of things to come once the shackles are off. BiggrinAle

once pele back's you, you know your going to lose, once your entire nation believes you have a special special super special group of players before they have on anything, its also a sign that you will lose, but especially pele that's just a curse

Just 18% of the Germans believe that Germany is going to win the WC, I posted this earlier, so I don't know what you're on about.

Pelé can believe whatever the fuck he wants, it won't make a difference. I remember him saying that Brazil are the team to beat and Neymar being the best player a while ago, he's probably getting senile. The last thing that is of any significance for anything are soundbites from ex-footballers, especially those who don't manage a team or aren't involved in the sport in any other way anymore. We have a few of those ourselves.

Said this before, the present day group of german players is easily the best they over had. Better than the 70's, they do need a better manager. Any south american team will be crapping donuts if they got drawn against them in the group stages.Very Happy

I can't see Germany win it either, their midfield is wonderful, but so is that of Spain. But their defense and their attack..not so much. Klose is a decent player, but it's strange that the likes of Reus or Gotze might be benched and he will be allowed to play.

As for the defenders, I like Boateng and Lahm. But a guy like Hummels would have played midfield for Germany a decade ago.

It will be Brazil most likely. Home nations tend to win these competitions pretty often, if they are semi-decent.

It's the defending as a team that is the problem, "Umschaltspiel in der Rückwärtsbewegung" to be more precise. Our defenders have excellent records at their respective clubs. There is too much space between midfield and defence once we lose possession. And our pressing isn't as coordinated and well-oiled as it has to be for for such a high line to work, although admittedly this particular aspect seems to have improved in recent matches.

Our attack isn't a weak spot, it's the crown jewel, because midfield and attack have to be seen as one unit, particularly when we're playing a fluid strikerless formation, which we're doing more often these days. Just look how those 36 goals scored in qualification are spread amongst the team. We're not dependent on a striker / forward to score, basically all of our midfield (including the CMs) have goals in them. This makes the attack unpredictable and difficult to defend against. Löw spent years on creating this fluid attacking game, he's come close to achieving what he intended, to his credit that is (although considering the number of gifted attacking players at his disposal, it's arguably no rocket science). But it has come at the cost of neglecting the defensive side of things. My gripe is that he should have focused on the defence first, the priorities basically. You build a team from the back, it's the proper way to do.

As far as the players are concerned, Germany has one weak spot, the LB position. Schmelzer is ok, but he is not of the same class compared to the rest of the team. And we're talking about a player who is starter for Dortmund, the same Dortmund that played in the CL final last year. Striker is not a weak spot because, as already explained, we have all the flexibility. Classical #9 in Gomez, false #9 in Götze, Müller, Reus etc., something in between in Klose. Flexibility and vast experience.

didn't say win the world cup though, I said believe they have a super special special super players, it reminds me of the england has 10 WC player plus Wayne rooney bit to be honest.

I mean the only weak spot is the LB.

i know people will point to spain, but no one liked spain before they won, they everyone jumped on their bandwagon.

"super special special super players"? We have excellent players, playing for Europe's leading clubs on key positions. Are you trying to imply that this isn't the case?

Whatever though, the difference to England back then, Brazil and yes, your beloved Argentina, is that Germans always understood the importance of the team. You can have a ton of excellent players, but it isn't really relevant as long as they don't click as a cohesive, compact and dangerous team. Strong teams consist of strong individuals. Strong teams win titles, not individuals.

P.S.: What is the weak spot on the German NT then?
