Well, the next battle is finsished too. I had some hopes for a more interesting tie, because Mexico had a weaker campaign as usual and New Zealand got some respectable results last WC...

Glad though that Uruguay and Mexico made it, more interesting WC!

What's up with those seven Jordanian starters who don't even want to travel to Uruguay for the rematch?

Their manager understood them and accepted their resignation. However, the Jordanian Federation hope to convince them to get on the plane and at least show up in Montevideo for their can of whoop ass.

I understand their disappointment after being so utterly destroyed in their own house -they probably thought they were playing against beings from another superior planet- but their behavior is absurd.

What the Jordanians don't know is that Uruguay had a bad game (I watched the game on delay) and were probably at fives and sixes throughout; Cavani a six, Suárez a five, for example.

Jordan 0-5 Uruguay
México 5-1 New Zealand
England 2-5 Chile

Portugal v Sweden is very tasty so far. What is the last time not a single Scandinavian team was on a tournament?

Question for the evening.

Ronaldo v Zlatan according to the papers. Yet both havent shown anything yet.

Expecting the likes of Elmander or Spurs Lamela from 2003 to decide the game.

Koscielny is pretty good defender, but does have tendency to get sent off a lot.

I'm in France (Dijon) now and the post mortem has been on tv for a full hour. The main contention  seems to be why Benzema didn't start. Looks like our players had a torrid time of it.Hope there will be no after effects. Kos should come home.

Are they not wondering why the fuck so many of their players are at Newcastle?

France are fucked big time it seems!

If you take that 2006 revival of Zidane away...they have been utter shite since 2000! Mad!

As for Sweden, Zlatan went AWOL in a big game once again. Shame it didnt end 0-0. But Ronaldo should have seen red. I cant see Sweden win 2-0 in Sweden.

Imagine France without Zidane. I doubt they would have got past the quarter final in any tournament since 1990. Even worse than England!
