That's a silly statement. They don't have the kind of depth that Bayern and the big players in Europe have. But you can be simple-minded about it, of course.

Robbie Savage is really boring with his Demichelis bashing. Yes, he sucks (for a team with City CL ambitions). But he is still better this season comparing to Lescott and Nastasic.

Pellegrini trying the none-impartial referee line; think he'll be in trouble for that.

Not even nervous for tonight, I guess that's because my expectation is quite low. I'd like us to go with a very direct line-up, no point trying to have more possession than them. Sit back, soak up pressure, press them hard when they venture into our half and break with pace. That means no Giroud and Cazorla in the team. Your best players don't necessarily make the best team against certain opposition. Wenger rarely adapts though (my huge criticism of him), he just sends out his best players even if they are not suited to a particular game plan.

--------------Ozil
Poldi------------------------Ox
-----Rosicky-Flamini-Wilshere--
Gibbs-----Kos---Merte-------Sagna
---------------Ches

Is what I'd like to see.

They could do us on set pieces, but I'd take the risk.

If you're going down that route which I kinda of agree with, would you not start with Sanogo up front against Dante? It would be a good battle and Dante is their weak link

This is the problem with the internet, people are actually suggesting starting Sanogo over Giroud. I get the case for starting one or both of Poldi/Gnabry over say Cazorla; I get the criticism of Wenger for insufficiently adapting his gameplan to the opposition or even condescending to use tactics; but this is not the right game to experiment with Özil as a false nine, and there are good reasons why in real life managers tend to be more conservative than us on here.

I thought about Sanogo, but I think he's too raw to start a game of this magnitude. He hasn't yet settled into the side, you could tell he's still nervous when he plays for us (compared to when I saw him for France in the summer). And experience counts in the CL.

Gnabry is also another candidate for that role. He looks a central player to me in the Aguero or Tevez mould despite being employed out wide so far. He's got similar all-round game (good passing, vision, dribbling etc) and has looked most dangerous for us when he's drifted inside, he hardly takes on the fullback when out wide. But again, I'd go for Ozil's experience.

I hope we play a lot of diagonals for our wide players to run onto to escape their pressing, similar how Mourinho's Madrid used to play against Barca.

I really hope we play pacey players out wide.

That's not because Sanogo > Giroud.

Horses for courses Allez.

Who'd u rather play in a high line, Vermaelen or Terry? Obviously it's Veramaelen despite Terry being by far the better player.

Atlético should be massive favourites for this tie, Milan are beyond shite, even with the super guidance of Seedorf!

He does have a bit of Adebayor about him, but unlike Ade, he's very composed in-front of goal. We might not see that composure any time soon (due to nerves) but he's definitely got it in him.

Big chance for the lad!
